this will be my first year in the premium section so i can't really comment on that area yet, but last year in the general campground as a light sleeper i got maybe 3 hours of sleep each night. the so-called "quiet hours" are 2-8am but the staff doesn't do much of anything to enforce it. i think the earliest that people shut up last year was around 4am, and by 8 it was too warm to keep sleeping. pretty much if you're a light sleeper like myself and hope to get any decent amount of sleep, you'd better be showing up in an RV with thick insulation or get so tanked that you black out for a few hours. there's really nothing else that can be done unless you want to get a hotel room.

Agreed! But not the sunburn aftermath. I had the worst farmers burn that took all summer to get rid of. hahah oh god i still have a tan line on my arms from last year, i got burnt so bad. i'm irish and dutch so i don't tan, i just fry. definitely bringing some maximum strength sunblock this year.

am I actually reading it correctly, we are not allowed to return to our campsite during the day? basically you are stuck inside the venue for 12+hours??? yeah, that's pretty much what it's like unless they miraculously changed the rules this year (not likely). after they scan your ticket at the front gate you can't get back in if you leave. perhaps some year in the future they'll have a couple brain cells active and stamp peoples hands or pass out wristbands for re-entry.

if you want any shot at getting a campsite, show up in the early afternoon on friday, otherwise you might be out of luck.

if i recall correctly, down by the main stage there were little gnats all over the place last year when it was sunny. i'm always the one to get bit if there's any biting insects, but i didn't have a single bug bite after the weekend was over. my cell service with at&t was just fine.

i really want to see Mos Def too but i think the decemberists win out. plus i want to be up front for YYYs and would have to fight my way there if i was coming from the wookie stage 15 minutes before they come on.

if you're in the premium campground you get early entry automatically. if not, i haven't heard anything about an early entry pass this year.

peter bjorn and john canceled so they could tour with depeche mode. if you want to see sun kil moon, they have a show in portland on may 21st. i bought a ticket for that a while back myself because i knew there would be a conflict. matt costa opens for them so it should be great.

i'm pretty disappointed that there's no alternatives to KOL on saturday unless you want to go to the dance tent. that'll probably be my night to go back to the campground early and get tanked. at least on monday there's girl talk and explosions in the sky to see instead of erykah badu and ben harper.

the last band pretty much plays how ever long they feel like playing, the cure went for almost 3 hours last year. they had better give NIN at least an hour and a half slot.

well if you have a premium campsite they won't really search you worth a damn, i saw plenty of people get liquor and various narcotics into the place last year. they do have some patrols inside the venue itself that go around but they mostly stay to the walkways unless they see something. there's plenty of places to light a J if you feel so inclined, just stay on the grass way on the far side of the hill and no one will bother you.

there's something wrong with the times listed on some of the artist links, headliners are only listed for 1 hour timeslots. at least i hope that's a mistake and we actually get full sets from them, otherwise a lot of people are going to feel jipped.

Is the hypothetical line-up of 9 on sasquatch, 8 on wookie and 7 on yeti full now? I think that there is just one open spot, Monday on the Sasquatch stage. i kinda have a feeling they might add a last minute headliner for monday, otherwise many people will probably be going home early. or perhaps they're just choosing to end monday an hour earlier than last year.

they allow RVs in the premier sites, so i don't see any reason why they wouldn't allow two cars (which would probably take up less space if parked back-to-back).

Franz Ferdinand plays the Moore theater on April 13th, FYI. i'd be pretty ticked if they were at sasquatch, since i paid $50 to see them next week lol

sheryl crow is a headliner pretty much anywhere she goes, so that's probably a lock for one of the days. katy perry is not headliner material whatsoever so she'll probably be an opening act for the teenage girls, kind of like paramore was last year. modest mouse would be a solid band to lead into a bigger name headliner. it definitely is still very early, but last year's band of horses / beck and offspring / death cab days will be hard to beat.
