I skipped that Shins set to see St. Vincent from the front row on Bigfoot. It was possibly my favorite set ever at Sasquatch, going all the way back to 2008, and I've never had fewer regrets about a scheduling conflict. You're forced to reassess what you want in life after touching Annie Clark's knee while she crowd surfs and shreds simultaneously.

Thanks Pea! Do you have one of those red telephones with a direct line to AZ?
If anyone's still looking for a ticket at probably lower than face value, I might have a lead on one GA pass. Let me know and I'll confirm that it's still available.

Anyone want to comment on these? Bought them from a seller on Craigslist. They activated just fine, and they have the RFID portion. Only thing I'm concerned about is if they're actually GA tickets in addition to the Cliff House access. From what I've seen the Cliff House-only tickets are just daily paper tickets to be exchanged for a tyvek wristband.

Don't bother looking for mine, I can upload them all into one place. The B&W printable ones go back to 2011 and I have the official ones from 2008-2010.

And here's a copy of my single-side 8.5x11 B&W schedule. It will probably be updated. Attachments:Schedule.pdf (17.17 KB)

I feel bad for Tangerine, Cosmos, and Mindy Lind. No one gets into the venue by noon, especially if the only act is some unknown on the Yeti stage. You could argue they'll get more exposure playing unopposed, but it's more likely they play to an empty field.
Looking back at schedules through 2009, this is the first time they've isolated the first set of the day. It seems like a weak attempt to get more people in the venue early.

1. Ty Segall (with Fuzz at Sasquatch 2015) I didn't know much about him before this set, and came across him on a pit stop before Father John Misty. Got an awful spot for FJM because Ty melted my face off and I couldn't find Bigfoot stage. He can't be missed.
2. Sufjan Stevens (June 2015 at the Paramount, July 2015 at Eaux Claires Festival) He didn't play many festival sets until the last year or so, and if it's anything like this year's Coachella performance he's moved his set away from Carrie and Lowell, which doesn't really suit the festival vibe. At Coachella he played Impossible Soul for the first time since 2011 (thanks YouTube!), so we're bound to see some rarely performed songs from his huge catalog. There are certain performers who can completely captivate and lock you in to their performance (Wilco, Grizzly Bear, Joanna Newsom, to name a few in the same vein). Sufjan is one of them.
3. Grimes (Neumos 2012, Sasquatch 2013) Grimes impressed me despite issues at both shows. She blew out her hearing at the Neumos show and had to cancel the remaining shows on her tour. At Sasquatch I heard complaints about her sound mixing, but this was at the notoriously bad Bigfoot stage so I can't blame her. Both shows were amongst the most exciting I've been too. Get up close so you can see all the work she's doing. She was at Coachella too, but her vocals were awful and you could see it irritating her. If everything's sorted out by Sasquatch I'd see her over anyone else there.
I'll second Titus Andronicus. Seen them a couple times and can vouch that they'll play one of the most energetic sets of the weekend.

Sigur Ros is playing the Paramount September 20th. Their Sasquatch set in 2013 was unbelievable.

If you know exactly what you're doing, it's great but kind of high maintenance. The frozen 1-gallon jugs make a lot more sense if you have room for them. I like to keep perishable stuff that doesn't mind being frozen in a small dry ice cooler, and everything else like drinks and produce in a big water ice cooler.

Those soft-sided flasks are perfect, my bag has a semi-hidden compartment and I bring enough distracting but legal stuff that it's never been found. A bag of wine fits the bill. If you have a woman in your group, the bra area is very safe too. For smaller items, like a pipe, joints, pills, etc. just stuff it down your pants. Centered, though, in the crack or in the crotch. You'd have to be packing a lot to get noticed.
I've been every year since 2008 and I've never bought food or drinks in the venue, or even at the campground. A couple Clif bars, fruit, jerky, and water will fuel you better than the garbage they sell.
The security definitely steps up each day. The entrance line gets longer and they search more thoroughly. But if you get found out, it's easier to get back in a different lane and try again than it is it give up and walk back to camp. One time I accidentally left my Leatherman in my bag, but I hid it better and jumped back in line. Success!
As of last year, the big grocery store in Quincy sells dry ice. It's a popular area for outdoorsy stuff so it's actually easier to find than in a big city.

Anybody else going to Father John Misty at the Paramount next week? I am! Do you think he'll be playing new material? He hasn't played any shows since December, so I'm guessing he will.

This is a great week for concerts. White Denim is playing Neumos tonight, Joanna Newsom is at the Paramount tomorrow, and Polica is playing the Neptune on Thursday.
You can still get tickets for White Denim and Polica!

It's hard to pick who's deserving of a headlining spot. A festival requires their headliners to drive ticket sales, put on a memorable performance, appeal to the locals, and draw from enough material to play for at least 90 minutes. A lot of the past headliners have had a weakness in one or more of these categories. 2009 was an unholy trinity of bro-rock, but tickets sold fast. 2011 had a couple smaller headliners, but they're adored in the PNW. Macklemore and the Mumfords in 2013 doesn't look great in hindsight, but they were huge at the time.
2016 - Disclosure, Major Lazer, The Cure, Florence & the Machine 2015 - Sleater-Kinney, Modest Mouse, Robert Plant, Kendrick Lamar 2014 - Outkast, The National, Queens of the Stone Age 2013 - Macklemore, Sigur Ros, Mumford & Sons, The Postal Service 2012 - Pretty Lights, Jack White, Bon Iver, Beck 2011 - Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Wilco 2010 - My Morning Jacket, Massive Attack, Ween 2009 - Kings of Leon, Jane's Addiction, Ben Harper 2008 - R.E.M., The Cure, The Flaming Lips
Sasquatch usually gets one or two truly special headliners each year. I don't think you can say that about this year. The Cure come closest, but they've been here before and they're on a huge tour. You can't sell out a festival with those headliners when it costs about $500 per attendee.
Don't count on Major Lazer losing that headliner spot, though. Snacks has never done anything like that.
