Bah, voting for that poster is closed (or so it told me). Make a poster for my band sometime, that was great. Yeah it closed pretty early this morning, I didn't think to put it up here until the very end, but I appreciate the thought. Any link to band info? I'd be interested indeed.

Posted in Every Thread is Every Thread, but I think it fits here too. I know I'm only on here once in a blue moon, but I figured I go to a music community that continues to thrive, and I'm glad to be a part of in any degree. I have a design up in a poster contest for Portugal. The Man, if you could take a look at it, and toss me a vote, that'd be much appreciated. Love you dontoro, but can't get behind that comparison at all. That's fair. I haven't seen Jurado in a few years, so your experience could be more of what we should look forward to, but when I saw Tallest Man that was the first thing I thought.

I learned my lesson about eating mysterious Sasquatch power bars. Watching The Tallest Man on Earth while stoned off my ass and crying like a little kid was a bit ridiculous. Damien Jurado sucks. I wound up at one of his shows because I had nothing better to do and he bored me to no end. Apparently the link between Tallest Man on Earth and Damien Jurado doesnt apply to everyone. Oh of course not, and knowing Pea, that was in no way intended directly for him, but for anyone who may have a similar interest... There was quite a crowd in 2010 for Tallest Man, so I know there's a draw.

If you enjoy music/ sets like The Tallest Man on Earth, you'll certainly enjoy the music and stylings of Damien Jurado.
This is the first time I can remember a swap I was actually excited for.

Hello! First time Sasquatch ticketholder here! If EitS plays in the same slot as Girl Talk into Pretty Lights I'm going to be one sad panda EitS definitely wins but I don't want to miss out on that epic dance party! Explosions will always win for me too... Don't be sad on missing the dance party, they'll be plenty, and you won't likely miss any of the main action. You should be able to roll from a mesmerizing Explosions performance into a dance-a-thon.

I'm a big fan of both, but if we're basing our predictions on what we know, like we constantly do, then Explosions will end before Girl Talk and Pretty Lights anyway, really the conflict that occurs with Explosions will be with Santogold, or Feist, if she is for some reason playing on that Friday.

Good time for a mile-marker post!
1. Explosions in the Sky 2. Mogwai 3. Spiritualized 4. Feist 5. Bon Iver 6. Beirut 7. Metric 8. Siversun Pickups 9. Childish Gambino 10. Pickwick
Despite having already seen a few of the artists on this list, I've never seen them at the gorge and tried to in 2009, so I'm pretty excited to cross that off my list. A few names may drop from a "top ten" position, but these will all stay anticipated at the very least.

I agree with you Pea, and the live videos I've seen of Girl Talk are kind of underwhelming. His studio stuff is a lot better but obviously he can do a lot more in a non-live setting. I'm hoping that in the moment with the energy and the setting his set at Sasquatch will be entertaining, and from the reviews of people that have seen him, I'm sure it will be. Just some personal insight, Girl Talk seems to be able to do much much more live than in the studio. How he manages to transition songs, just like he does on his album, live, he also manages to toss in varied... remixes... I guess in there too. (Although in that it's a remix of a remix, and he remixes damn near everything, I guess it's a new song?) Point being, live, he's better than his records IMO. I've seen Pretty Lights before, and yes it's a "show," and a good show if you've never seen it before. It will be fun, you will dance, (assuming you're watching/hearing, and are capable of standing on your own; in which case if you cannot stand on your own you may very well be doing some weird crab dance on the ground that will either look like a seizure or a really retro break dancing move that you will then see replicated by someone the following day so that they can continue to be "hip," and in the "know.") It's not impossible to compare the two as long as it's in the category of "Can I dance to this music?" and the answer to both is a resounding yes. Aside from that I think Pea has said something similar, but they're not really in the same musical genre at all.

I'm sure they did play it eventually, but I was back in the campground by then. Seriously, I left the festival for the day because I was so pissed at Pavement after LCD, I was like, nothing is gonna turn this around. I stopped and looked at Dirty Projectors for a minute because they're all such beautiful people, but that cooCOOcooCOOcooCOOCOOcoocoo thing they do was sounding all muddy on the Wook so I bailed and missed Massive Attack. THANKS A LOT PAVEMENT. Jesus Christ. You missed one hell of a set from Massive Attack. These are the advantages of not giving a shit about Pavement. Hell yeah, I remember running around the pit during Pavement in anticipation for Massive Attack, and then being completely blown away. Amazing experience! If I had interest in Pavement, I can see the frustration.

I have an urgent question that needs answering (I'm freaking out since I don't know how fast shuttle tickets are going to sell out) So my friend with a premier camping ticket is arriving on Thursday night while the rest of the campers (3 of us) will be arriving around Friday afternoon (from the Vancouver Sasquatch Shuttle). Is it possible that when she arrives she can get the four wristbands (one for her, three for her tentmates) and give them to us at a meeting place on the Friday afternoon? Or does the person/guard with the wristbands only hand them out to people who are with my friend at the time she shows the ticket? In my experience you get your Premiere, camping wristbands when you get to the fest. The people taking the passes try to just give it to the people in the car, but once you bitch a little and say you paid for four passes, they tend to concede the fact that you paid for them and you can do what you want with them. In premiere you'll have your camping wristband and then you'll get your festival wristband, which you can get before the long ass line getting in to the fest.

With the exception of Lana Del Rey, artists that were released in the website glitch do have correct corresponding dates, (i.e. St. Vincent on Saturday, Blitzen Trapper on Saturday, etc.) If you check out a few of the leaked artists, a strange pattern starts to emerge.... the dates correspond! A fair amount of artists already have certain dates up since the full length of the festival is also amidst another show, as is the case with Pretty Lights, his website has Friday the 25th, because he's at Summercamp on the 27th... So loud DANCY Friday is what we're looking at. With Pretty Lights Headlinging on Friday, Jack White on Sunday, Bon Iver (with a confirmed date on Sunday) and Beck on Monday.
Since there isn't any EDM on the bigfoot stage like there was last year, because yes Bassnectar and Ratatat were announced at the beginning as being on Bigfoot, I'm putting hopeful money on late night sets by Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai. Out of all the artists on Bigfoot those two are the only ones that can really close a stage with any amount of grandeur.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here, or any of y'all friends that went got any pictures or video of a dancing light up crew? I had my light suit Friday night during Dj Anjali, and my partner had her light up T-Rex costume. There were a bunch of people taking photos and videos so there out there somewhere, just trying to track some down. Thanks.

If the everyone had in and out, it would make security's job much more difficult, and much more expensive. As well as plummeting costs for the venues food, wouldn't offset the cost of thousands of people getting a little more over zealous than your average show, (so I would assume, as Sas is really the only show I can afford to go to at the Gorge) and again disrupting sources of profit.
There's only a limited amount of VIP, and they really should get in and out privileges, hell they should get full entrees and free liquor, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere.
