You don't think a downtown bar scene in a major city should have several sports bars catering to all types of sports fans? Every city I've been to, sports bars find you. It's not like I've only been to Seattle once either. There is no bar scene downtown. You have to go to the hill for that, unless you want to be perenially disappointed. This is true, unless you want to go to Belltown (but who the fuck wants to go to Belltown?). Buckley's in Belltown is actually a pretty fantastic sports bar, though. I even have first hand knowledge that they play sporting events from teams outside of Seattle. Despite wonk's assurance otherwise.

Find my quote where I told you the Timbers were insignificant. You won't, because I never said anything close to that. The Timbers are just as important to the league as the Sounders and Whitecaps are. You missed my point entirely. I talk trash because it's fucking fun, not because I don't respect them. Now you get it.

Despite wonk's assurance otherwise. You must have missed this. Yes I know, there are satellite sports bars in Seattle, I've been to the biggest one there, but that town sucks for sports bars. You go to a sports bar in Seattle, you expect to have the Seattle game on. You go to a sports bar in Portland, you get booed out of the bar for expecting the Seattle game to be on.

Sodo (stadium) district is NOT downtown Seattle. I explained that to you back when you were in Seattle looking for a bar. Everything south of Pioneer square is a ghost town when it isn't game day. How is someone who doesn't live in Seattle supposed to understand when they get off the Amtrak (or Greyhound), and they are swarmed by tall building, and there is a giant baseball stadium right next to a giant football stadium, and the biggest tourist destination Pike's place market is right down the street, that they are not in downtown Seattle?

For the record, if you lived in Seattle you would live on Cap Hill, and if you lived on Cap Hill this would be your favorite bar. 95slide.com/It's one of the best sports bars I've been to in Seattle, and it's owned by the bass player for Grand Archives, so it's double cool for me. Clearly it's a baseball bar first, but they've always been super awesome and welcoming to Sounders fans and have even hosted events for away matches. Killer food, too, and an excellent outdoor deck on the second story.

Went there for the first time the other day, great food and decent drink prices. My buddy and I already decided it's gonna be our spot come football season.

That place was fucking packed when Lucy and I met you there prior to Sigur Ros, Pea. Is it only like that during Seattle games?

Oh shit! I totally forgot about that! They were hosting a viewing party for a match that night, so it was significantly more crowded than it usually ever will be.

For the record, if you lived in Seattle you would live on Cap Hill, and if you lived on Cap Hill this would be your favorite bar. WHO ARE YOU TO COMPARE ME TO THE ASSHOLES WHO LIVE ON CAPITOL HILL? ? Those hotels near the stadium better not be charging downtown prices if they aren't actually downtown, because that's where I'm staying when I head up there for the A's games. Let me guess, that is actually downtown, thus standard rates apply?

Well...I would imagine you would be paying "hotel within walking distance of two professional sports stadiums during a game" prices rather than "downtown" prices.

Hmm, well I imagine the mass transit lines that run immediately through SoDo get pretty bad on game days but the 72 from our place straight to the convention center plaza downtown only takes like 30-45min, all on the same bus.

You better believe you're paying gameday prices for those hotels. Anytime WaMu hosts a huge electro night those prices skyrocket even higher.

It means you drink your PBRs with your pinky out. After asking the bartender if Pabst is vegan.
