Don't worry fig, you're in a good city for 2013 football.

No fan should be too upset about losing a 32 year-old, 950yd/4TD (regular season) receiver who was going to be hitting their team's cap for a cool ~6-7million next year but Boldin was an all-around damn good guy and his field presence once the Ravens fired Cam Cameron and they hit the postseason was critical in getting us to and winning the Super Bowl.
I'm pumped for Seahawk football as well, but nothing will ever top my love for the Ravens. Their arrival at Baltimore got me into sports. Period. And you had better believe I will be wearing my Boldin jersey at the 49ers/Hawks game this year even though I will be pulling for the Hawks!

The best part about Seattle football is the fact that a lot of transplants live here, so you end up with a really diverse group of fans at the bars (when the hawks aren't on). As a transplant Bears fan I've ended up sitting with a whole table of strangers from who moved here from Chicago too. It's so fucking fun.

Don't worry Dr. Garbanzo, you're in a good city for 2013 football. This is enormous homerism. Seattle has always been known as one of the most fair-weather sports town in the nation.

As a transplant Bears fan I've ended up sitting with a whole table of strangers from who moved here from Chicago too. It's so fucking fun. This happens in most cities. Seattle is actually one of the worst towns to watch football at a bar, because most bars only show the Seahawks game, and if they are having a shitty year, no one is there. I spent a couple hours searching for a bar near the stadium showing the Steelers game recently. Nearly every bar in that area didn't have a satellite, and there are a lot of bars in that area. I ended up at a hole in the wall Italian restaurant watching the Steelers on a 20 inch screen in the back corner. Yes I know, there are satellite sports bars in Seattle, I've been to the biggest one there, but that town sucks for sports bars. You go to a sports bar in Seattle, you expect to have the Seattle game on. You go to a sports bar in Portland, you get booed out of the bar for expecting the Seattle game to be on.

That's because Portland is not a real sports town.

That's because Portland is not a real sports town. Sadly, I completely agree. But neither is Seattle.

Yeah, but it makes a good effort, and with the Sounders on the up and the prospect of a new Sonics franchise, I'm optimistic for the future. And in the meantime I will chill at the Bears bar in Wallingford.

Will you get off my fucking case? Your claims today have been some of the dumbest posts you've ever made. On your case? You think Sounders transactions are huge news. ESPN.com doesn't, and neither do I. You think Harvin is an enormous deal for the Seahawks. I don't. Big deal. You think Seattle is a great football town, I don't. It's the biggest fair-weather sports town in the nation. Where were you when the Seahawks sucked? I didn't even know you were a Seahawks fan until last season. Exactly. Guess what, I like the Timbers, because I live in Portland. I'm not going to bitch about you being on my case when you tell me you how insignificant the Timbers are.

wonk, you are the king of absurd absolutes. " I couldn't find a good sports bar in Seattle, therefore Seattle is a shitty sports town with shitty sports bars." You don't think a downtown bar scene in a major city should have several sports bars catering to all types of sports fans? Every city I've been to, sports bars find you. It's not like I've only been to Seattle once either.

Find my quote where I told you the Timbers were insignificant. You won't, because I never said anything close to that. The Timbers are just as important to the league as the Sounders and Whitecaps are. I talk trash because it's fucking fun, not because I don't respect them.
I didn't realize consistent posting on a message board is required to prove I'm not a fairweather Seahawks fan. If I had known, I would have jumped at the fucking chance to prove to you that I've been a fan since at least February of 2010.

Everything south of Pioneer square is a ghost town when it isn't game day.
