Holy balls The National with Local Natives and Wye Oak (they showed up for the second show) was fantastic. I got to meet both members of Wye Oak between sets and everything. They told a joke or two between songs and said "you guys are lucky, last night I went on a 5 minute rant telling dick jokes. It wasnt even funny, it was just me saying dick a bunch of times" Empty, was it funny? Even knowing the lyrics, I could swear he was saying geese at the show. Haha Totally sounded like he was saying geese to me too. Could have been the other 800 people singing along, but it sort of makes sense with the mention of swans and water in the song. I'm fairly certain he was discussing nicknames for their horn section. It was all penis related. "Penis hat" etc. or something. It was extremely funny in it's awkwardness. I also loved the part when random guy yells random stuff from the audience and Matt replies "something something something hot tub orgy." Everyone laughs and he says "I hate both of those things, so I would hate them together. They're both awkward." AND WE LAUGGGHHEDD! Fuck, I had such a good time at that show. Fuck, I'm still mad I missed Local Natives. Fuck.

Possibly my favourite show I have seen this year. He kept making awkward jokes then saying, things like "Wait, we are in the sad part of the set, back into character guys!" He also walked 2 rows in front of me when they played Mr. November. That was an impressive feat walking all around a seated venue with a wired mic.
And if it makes you feel any better I think Wye Oak was better than Local Natives, but that could be because the girl kept looking at me and I now have a huge crush on her.

I bought some tickets for Excision's X tour. He is promising a huge light production he is calling "X Vision".

Just picked up my Justice tickets to the Vancouver show in April. For those interested, the pre-sale code is the last word in the title of their new album. Enjoy!

Justice tickets in Portland are $35 + fees. Meanwhile, in Seattle they're $26.50 at a venue that's more than twice the size.
Looks like I'm goin to the Seattle show.

No, Geno! Drive twice as far to Vancouver (BC) and pay double for a show at a venue no more than half as decent!

Good thinking Geno! Nevermind the $70 in gas it will cost to get to Seattle! Stick it to that silly Portland man!

The Avicii show in Calgary got moved to a much bigger venue (Big 4, same venue Bassnectar just sold out). Its a good move, but tickets are still hella expensive. They're releasing the next batch on Saturday. I still think I'm going to pass, but lord am I tempted. I was thinking about this, but that is way too much. I am pretty confidant he is going to be at Coachella this year anyways...

Good thinking Geno! Nevermind the $70 in gas it will cost to get to Seattle! Stick it to that silly Portland man! It usually costs me about $40-$50 in gas. I'd much rather see Justice at the Paramount than the Roseland too. Plus I always end up staying a few days with my friend that moved up there, so it's all good.

It was announced this morning that Puscifer will be playing at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary on March 11, 2012. I haven't listened to much of their stuff, but I think that is a show that is not to be missed.
Has anyone seen them before?

Yea. I'm not a huge fan of the new album, but their live show is super awesome. They make a point of making a spectacle of it, so I would definitely go again.
