I thought I was the only one who wasn't overly impressed with their show. I still had a good time and all but I felt the show was way too short. It seemed to take almost half the set before the band was really into it and then it was over. Definitely not long enough.
Also, Venue was way too small a club for that band. I think this is one of the few times where I'd prefer to see them at an outdoor festival, so hopefully all the predictions/wishlists will be right and they'll be at Coachella or Sasquatch.

Yeah I didnt really want to bring deadpunk down before his show but it didnt quite meet my expectations, but my expectations were really damn high. It felt like they were holding back until they played 'Couleurs', but that song alone pretty much made the show worth it for me. I thought the short set was because of the venue having a firm end time of 10:00 but I guess the sets were that short everywhere.
Overall, I thought they were better at Sasquatch 09. That may have had something to do with the guy in front of me on mushrooms for half the show who kept trying to hug and talk to people trying to watch the show. Once he left it was much better.

The show will be rad. Don't worry. It will, however, leave you yearning for an outdoor night time festival set.

Opps, I thought everyone on the board who was going to see them had already seen them. Like pea said, the show will be great. The lights are awesome. Apparently the sound varries. Hopefully the place you are going is better than where I saw them because they are way to popular to play a 500 person venue in Vancouver because there was no room to move in that place. Oh and if a short french guy wants to get his coat before you, let him. It will, however, leave you yearning for an outdoor night time festival set. I only wish they were big enough to play a sunset show on the mainstage. Maybe they will get huge in the next 3 months and that can happen?

I have a feeling they will be billed higher than you expect on next year's festivals.

Oh I'm not worried, I'm sure it will be great.
Don't be shocked if they manage to pull the LCD Soundsystem slot next year (like 7pm). They underbooked their shows severely on this tour and are gradually playing larger venues. The show in Minneapolis is absurdly sold out in a 1,500 person venue and my buddy in Boston told me that their show at a 3,000 person venue is really sold out too.
I might even be pulling for a late night wookie set

Either a late afternoon/early evening mainstage set or closing (not counting late night act) set on the Bigfoot. I think they'll continue to book more EDM-based artists for those sets.
Btw. Wookie is so 2009.

Pea hit the nail on the head, their set left me yearning for more. Which I guess it's a compliment in a way.
And yeah, I would think by the time festivals roll around they'll be booking the 7pm slot mainstage or closing Bigfoot slot.

They are going to kill it at coachella, especially if they get the Cut Copy spot. Late night at the Mojave would be fucking deadly.
Knowing Sasquatch's stellar scheduling skillz they will probably get Chromeo's time slot.

I wouldnt be too surprised if the get the 7pm spot on the mainstage. They played the sub spot on the wookie in 2009 so if they dont get moved up to the mainstage I would be pretty surprised. I just really want to see them play sunset (so part of it would be in the dark) but I dont think they are going to be one of the 8 biggest acts playing the mainstage. Who knows though, if they are playing 3000 person venues in Boston maybe they are getting up there.
Dammit now I'm talking like they are going to be there. I probably shouldnt get my hopes up too high.

What was I talking about. M83 will totally play a 2pm mainstage slot in front of 10,000 people followed by Pulp playing in front of 75. All the while taking jabs at "that shitty hipster band" that played before them.

Not a lot of people selling M83 tickets in Portland, and I'm stuck needing an extra. Karma never seems to be on my side. I guess karma ended up coming through after all. Pea was able to hook my friend up with an extra ticket. Man, that show was GIGANTICALLY sold out. He could have easily sold out a venue twice that size. Thanks Pea!

My pleasure. It was nice meeting your friend as well. One of these days we'll get to hang out for longer than 10 minutes.

Has anyone here seen Austra live before? It's literally the first time a band that interests me has come through this shithole. I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is worth it to set foot in the cowboy themed bar in town. I haven't, but I keep hearing about them? her? Judging from this video that was just posted on my wall by Paper Bag Records, it's a her. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvMA1loQAUc here's the actual studio version though www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LJtMrhb558&ob=av2n
