So I was kinda expecting to get a They Might Be Giants ticket for my birthday so I didn't bother getting a ticket.
But I didn't get it sooo I'm not able to go now that it's sold out. I'm so mad right now.

Damn Geno that fucking sucks. Was hoping to see you there.
Also: absolutely bizarre that TMBG are selling out shows. I haven't been to a sold-out TMBG show in fifteen years.

I have not listened to this M83 before but I hear it is goot.
I just passed on presale Mother Mother tickets today and I think I'm already regretting it. The show is at one of the best venues in town, and it's a band that I'm getting more and more excited about, but I don't know if I'll be in town when it happens (Dec. 30th.) Can anyone offer insight on whether or not I should just pull the trigger and figure out where I'll be later?

I'm not really a fan of Mother Mother's stuff, especially the newest single, but I did see them when they opened for Matthew Good a couple years back and they were a lot of fun live. I'd say buy the tickets if you've never seen them before.

Yeah, they put on a good show. I would definitely try and check them out. Think I am going to pick up tickets for when they come through Calgary

Morther Mother probably won't sell out very fast if it does at all so you should be alright if you wait. Then again its right after christmas so maybe people will buy the tickets as gifts for that person on their list who likes music, but I really doubt a quick sell out.
I've seen them once before and they are a good time, so if you like their music you will probably have a great time at the show.

They're doing an early (all-ages) and late show for Mother Mother

Go, go! I had so much fun at their last show. I've seen them a couple of times and they only seem to be getting tighter.

You know in Jay-Z's 'Hard Knock Life' during the chorus or whatever when the kids are singing? That is what every Mother Mother song sounds like to me.
I've unintentionally seen them live twice, and have been inundated with their singles on the local 'modern rock' station for at least 2 years. The shrill cry of the 3 "singers" sends chills up my spine and makes me wish I had an ice-pick to jam in each ear.

Hard Knock Life is a sample from Annie, a sweet musical! Perhaps you don't like classic melody?

Wow. Ok. I just listened to one of their songs and I honestly have no idea if I loved it or hated it, but I'm definitely intrigued.
And I totally understand your comparison, alex.
EDIT: Oh look. They're Canadian.

Their new single, "The Stand", is really terrible.
Pea, I liked your comment about confusing them with Man Man. Funny stuff.

The Stand is the only one I kinda like. I'm not a huge fan but I do appreciate the style they're going for over other Canadian radio regulars like say Metric or Sam Roberts.
