haha ya, and half of the experience is taking in the natural beauty of the location. I've been to red rocks and I still say the Gorge is the most beautiful outdoor venue in the country (maybe world?). Red Rocks is incredible for sure, but most of its strength (for me) comes from the venue itself; the Gorge is surrounded by scenery that beats what Morrison, CO has to offer.

Well if you "don't care" about the headliners (who are the only band playing at that time with nothing else coming after them) and love the view then your in luck this year cuz Massive Attack and Ween set with the along with the view were made for each other. For those reasons I am excited for the headliners, and MMJ will melt faces on saturday. Normally at festivals I really don't get too worked up over stages. headliners, time slots... , but that's because they are way longer than 45 min-1.5 hrs and they go for 24hrs each day. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but seems like not having sweet set lengths and late nights means I want great headliners (which I personally love all three) to end the short night of music.

Yeah, the reason I bought tickets before the lineup was announced was just the idea of seeing Pavement at the Gorge. I'm already seeing them in New York and Chicago, but The Gorge really makes it for me.

This is also the reason i'm glad Pavement is playing before Massive Attack. This means I get a possible sunset set (say that five times fast).

I'm convinced that Massive Attack is going to teleport everyone into outer space during their set. I really couldn't be more excited to see them play this particular venue at night. Ahhhh!

This is by far the worst sasquatch lineup yet. I've been to four sasquatch's. Massive attack? Ween? WTF! These are not headliners. I don't know if I would consider them subheadliners. MMJ plays stadiums and are big enough to warrant a top spot but the rest of that day is fairly weak. I bought my tickets back in November because I had faith in sasquatch and I'm very, very disappointed. My tix are going up on craigslist, and I know they won't be the only ones. I'd like to direct you to 2002, sir. String Cheese Incident, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson are better than this lineup? I do not think so. Also, they had The Postal Service headline in 2004. Then again, most of 2004 read like a northwest bands only festival.

I know this isn't that big of a deal, but the postal service didn't headline in 04 (wikipedia lies sometimes). They were 3rd on the bill. The roots followed them and then Thievery Corporation headlined. Just by looking at that 04 line up some would get the impression that was a weak festival, but that year is still up their as one of my favorites of the seven I've been to and in my opinion compares to this years line up the best (very solid under card with a perceived unproven headliner).

a possible sunset set a possible sunset set a possible sunset set a possible sunset set a sosssibFUCK SO CLOSE Lumpy, do you just really like Pavement or do you travel a bunch for these things? It's a mixture of the two, somewhat. See, I live in South Carolina in Charleston (I usually have to travel at least 4 hours for a good show in Asheville, Chapel Hill, Atlanta, or Athens). These guys that are in a band with me are moving to New York in the summer, and they're as big Pavement fans as I am, so as soon as we heard about the first New York show, we got on that as soon as possible (goin' to the first announced show too, definitely excited). And, I went to Sasquatch last year (I've found every Sasquatch lineup to be the best festival lineup of each year (except the first one) and I had to experience the beauty of the Gorge for myself) and absolutely loved it. Pavement and Pixies are kinda tied for my favorite band so as soon as Pavement was announced for Sasquatch I knew that with Pavement and the consistency of amazing lineups that I must go to this one. I also have been wanting to take a tour of the west coast, and now that I'm 21 and can rent a car, I figured I'd take advantage and I plan to fly to LA with some friends rent a car, drive up the coast, go to Sasquatch and return my car at the Seattle airport and fly back from there. Then I had been to the Pitchfork festival in '08 which, like NEw York, is also in driving distance from me and loved it, and they seem to have my 2nd favorite lineup (to Sasquatch) consistently, so I went ahead and bought tickets to that. The problem is, I'm not made of money, and with the tickets to all those concerts I'm struggling to be able to eat and pay rent right now. It's rather pathetic, I put shows before basic every day needs sometimes. And I still plan on seeing Pavement if they come to Atlanta too, so who knows where that money will come from. Sorry if that spiel got a bit long. You might've been in for more than you bargained for with that question.

That makes a lot more sense. And yeah, I totally stole that from Wikipedia. lol - but even so, and this is from a "not being there" perspective, the lineup there still looks a bit weak.

Hahaha. I can't tell you guys how glad I am to have waited to do college for a couple years. Community college for 21-23, financial aid covering the rest, no student loans. It's very nice, leaves you lots of money to do things like, say, this

(HINT: Don't go to law school, kids.) At least you'll be well off in the long run. I'm double-majoring in Music and Arts Management. Though I'm interning at a recording studio that basically guaranteed me a job after school, so I can't complain too much.

(fun fact: Said studio just had in Band of Horses to record a track for Yo Gabba Gabba. Not so fun fact: They didn't tell me this news until AFTER it happened. They just asked me if I was available that day beforehand, and I said I wasn't, and that was it.)
