OK I did this out of curiosity. Feel free to play along if you are so inclined. I dug out my picks from early April, before the set times were released I believe, and now I'm going to see what I thought of the shows.
1) Flaming Lips - Disapointing. Plain and simple. I still liked it, but my expectations were so much higher. Last time I saw them was so much better.
2) Modest Mouse - The best of the weekend. Killed my expectations, which were very high (hence #2).
3) Wolf Parade - Awesome. Set was a bit too short, but I know that going in. Loved every second of it.
4) Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Pretty good, ended up leaving half way for Best Coast. Dont really know what I was expecting, but I wasnt as enthralled as I thought I would be. Still very impressive.
5) Fitz and the Tantrums - Put on a fun show. Nothing too special about it, but I really enjoyed it.
6) Black Mountain - Missed em for Chromeo. If I wasnt seeing them in August I might be pretty choked about that, though I did love Chromeo.
7) Flogging Molly - Missed em as well. Das Racist went on late, and after I made this list I got more excited about other bands and less about these guys.
8) Ratatat - Missed almost all of it because Modest Mouse went so long. I couldnt have cared less, Modest Mouse could have played for another 3 hours and I wouldnt have gone anywhere. The last few songs I saw were good.
9) DFA 1979 - Pretty much what I expected. Some of the fun of their show gets lost when you go from seeing them in 1000 person venues to the gorge. Show just wasnt very intimate (not like I didnt see that coming), though I thought they still sounded good though. Seriously, thats what its supposed to sound like.
10) Foo Fighters - So fucking good. Thrilled they were on the lineup because I would never have gone out of my way to see them in any other circumstance.

Good idea. Found my list from Feb (pretty sure that was my first post too):
1. Bassnectar - even better than I expected
2. Foo Fighters - they were so great! Second time seeing them and they put on a hell of a show
3. Matt & Kim! - also were even better than expected! I now have an even bigger crush on Kim
4. Chromeo - yeah they were alright.........jokes! They fucking killed it.
5. Wilco - ended up missing them for Major Lazer. No regrets.
6. Sleigh Bells - Great set, they were awesome in the tent
7. Sam Roberts - Meh, he was alright
8. DFA 1979 - Missed them. No regrets.
9. Flaming Lips - Really disappointed
10. Robyn - ahhhhh she was amazing! Gawd I love her dance moves

So here was my original list, now with comments: DFA1979 - This was fun, but they were completely overshadowed by the Foo Fighters Decemberists - Really enjoyed what I saw of their set, much better than Skrillex IMO Rodrigo y Gabriela - was blown away. Mind you, I'm a Jesse Cook fan and their style is similar, but I enjoyed their whole set. Flying Lotus - missed it (conflict) K-os - missed it (was too drunk and forgot how early the set was) Flaming Lips - yawn Tokyo Police Club - missed it, don't remember why anymore (probably drunk) Robyn - FUCK YES Bassnectar - G-L-O-W-P-O-C-A-L-Y-P-S-E Sam Roberts Band - caught 1/2 their set, had a lot of fun. Wasn't blown away though Jenny & Johnny - This was a lot of fun, a nice way to spend Saturday Afternoon.
So I missed 3/10 although my interest level in them changed prior to the festival (well except K-Os where I have no good excuse). The Lips were my only let down on the list.

Davers aren't you from Vancouver? Black Mountain plays there at least 5-10 times a year, so missing them is no big deal at all right?

Modest Mouse - Words can not express how fucking frustrated I was that they went on late. I think that was the only time that I was genuinely mad during the whole weekend. With Ratatat getting closer and Modest Mouse not playing I knew I wasn't going to be able to see much. After hearing Dashboard in a drunken rage I said fuck it and checked out MSTRKRFT for a few before heading to Ratatat. Living in WA I have seen them many a time and am still happy with my decision to see a band that doesn't come around much at my favorite place on earth.
Flaming Lips - Was not impressed. I have been hearing how good their live show is since I had missed them in 08 so I made it a priority to see them this year. I lasted about 20 minutes before I got bored and left.
Bassnectar - Saw him a week prior to the lineup coming out and was beyond excited to be seeing him again. Nothing could of ever prepared me for what went down Saturday night. I know its cliche to pull the "life changing" card but that was seriously one of the best times of my life. Stumbling in stoned off my ass trying to find all of you was a pain in the ass until I saw Leon's hat, shit was on then. From start to finish I had a smile on my face. Watching the security guards in the middle of the barrier having equally as much fun made my night. This set is tied with Sleigh Bells for best of the weekend. Being able to see my backpack glowing super bright was totally worth carrying around 1700 glow sticks all day.
Flogging Molly - Solid mid day set, reminded me of Gogol in 09. Second time seeing them and they were far better this time, I'm sure it was the venue. If they would of played Black Friday Rule I would of manned up and raged through the sunburn pain in the pit.
Ratatat - One of my most anticipated sets of the weekend and they mostly delivered. They should of closed out the tent instead of pulling the late night spot. Their set list and visuals were pretty damn awesome but the energy just wasn't there from the night before and for a late night set. If Major Lazer would of played this night I might of died from dancing too much.
Chromeo - Sexy. Fucking. Beach. Party. Awesome! I take back any shit I have talked about them due to their shitty dj set in 09. Reminded me of the awesome dance party that Santoigold threw down in 09 and was way more fun. Seeing my dog Franklin along with pea and Mfox's whales/dolphins floating above the crowd for a solid hour was amazing.
Trailer Park Boys - So disappointing. Left late due to people being drunk and slow and ended up waiting in line for a god damn hour to get in. Made my way to the front when I got in, sound was garbage so I went to the back where I could hear but not see anything. Stayed for about 30 minutes and laughed twice so I decided to leave. Seeing the boys in real life was pretty rad though.
Sleigh Bells - HOLY FUCK! I knew this set was going to be rowdy but jesus christ did they ever throw the fuck down. I was pretty stoked about the short set time which allowed them to play their whole album and let me hear every song I like. Really hope I get a chance to see them again. Tied with Bassnectar for best show of the weekend.
Major Lazer - Killed It! I have been saying all year that no one would top Boys Noize last year for closing the festival but Diplo and Skerrit Bwoy did what I thought wasn't possible. 100% sober and tired as balls but I still managed to have more fun during that set than I did most of the weekend. Almost pissed myself when Diplo dropped Gold Dust. Also I'm pretty sure that their confetti was on point with FLAMING FUCKING LIPS.
Skrillex - High expectations that were miserably not met. One of the most painful sets I have had the privilege of watching. This kid just plain sucks at playing music live and talks way, way too damn much. I love his music and listen to it in some form daily but dude, come on. It could be that I listen to more dubstep than most anyone I know but his set list was just plain boring, mixing was not that great and him shouting out "the ladies" and saying he just made some shit the day prior when I have been listening to it for months was fucking annoying.
Macklemore - The best emcee to ever touch a mic. This kid has a way of getting to me that no other rapper has in almost 20 years of listening to hip hop. I cried 3 times. This dude is and always will be my favorite rapper and I am proud as fuck that he is finally blowing up and holding us down in the process. Bummed that he got shafted on a short set but that was the fifth time I have watched him preform so I still left happy.
Glitch Mob - Decent at best. I think the anticipation of Sleigh Bells leading into Bassnectar made me want them to end as fast as possible. Glad they played their TVOTR remix along with a few others that names are escaping me at the moment. Actually, they had a solid ass set list but I was so anxious for the Sleigh Bells/Bassnectar combo that It didn't really let me enjoy it. Really hope I get a chance to see them again headlining their own show.
More than 10 but I am bored as shit and trying to prolong packing.

Not gonna lie, I teared up during the My Oh My song. I'm not even a baseball fan anymore but that song touches on my childhood like none other.

If I wasnt seeing them in August I might be pretty choked about that. Yeah seeing them at live at squamish, so not a big deal at all. That was the main reason I picked chromeo.
