Can someone give me details on the showers for regular campers?
i.e. wait times, location, etc.
thanks

The water is usually ice-cold by the end of saturday, and if you want to take a shower, the best time to do it would be at either 3am or during a headliner at night. I skipped Jane's Addiction last year to take a shower and there were 3 or so people waiting to take a shower. it was about a 15 minute wait.
as far as the shower location goes, it consists of 5 shower stalls for men and 5 for women.

If you don't take the above advice and choose to shower at say 11am, prepare to wait a few hours (seriously)

Yeah, that was the coldest shower I have ever taken, and I've taken quite a few in the woods.

There are actual washrooms in Premier, but from my experience from the guys washroom....they were dirty and disgusting the entire time. The portapotties (honey buckets) have running taps outside of them to wash your hands, do dishes etc. IMO the honey buckets were the way to go...as they were usually cleaner then the actual washrooms. Hope that helps.

considering how screwed up the camping situation as a whole got last year, they managed to keep the port-o-potties very well cleaned the entire weekend. i was very happy about that. if you're a general camper you might as well give up the thought of getting a shower. like someone said before, baby wipes are you best friend. i brought a big pack and it was a life saver. i'll probably see about leaving the campground to take a dip in the river as well at some point.

How far of a walk is it to the river? Are you able to walk down? Is it part of the campsite?

How far of a walk is it to the river? Are you able to walk down? Is it part of the campsite? You will likely see people in their boats from the festival, but I'm pretty sure you have to be on the other side to access that water. I can't say this for certain, but I'm gonna go with 95% sure that you can't get to the river from the campsite. But then I'm not the adventurous type to go trying to climb down.

the honey bucket cleanliness must have varied wildly, one of the ones by my campsite last year had a condom and a syringe on the floor on the first day.

I guess we were just in a nice part of the campsite. We kinda lucked out. We were right by the path, so it was easy to find our way. We were two rows away from that bus that made breakfast for everyone for a small fee. Good times.

Yeah, I recommend it. From what I heard they've been there most every year, so it's likely they'll be there again. Look for... can't believe I'm going to say this seriously... the short bus that's purple and painted all over. That'll be the one.
