Bring Bright Eyes over and have a Better Oblivion Community Center set in the mix too.

I really hope forgiveme is right about Elvis Costello. I just listened to his new album, The Boy Named If, and it rules. Still skeptical about his travel and playing back-to-back days, but he'd be rad! I missed him at Sasquatch 2013 for Earl Sweatshirt and Killer Mike (which I don't regret because he brought out El-P to perform some Run the Jewels tracks before they had dropped their debut album), and it would be rad to see him.

Today is the day! I'm going to assume the lineup drops in the afternoon/evening, so no breath holding just yet. Gotta say it has been fun with about a week of manic-conspiratorial-frantic-rampant speculation as opposed to months on months. The poop in pricing is a bit unfortunate, but also completely expected given the sharply increasing attendance fees we saw even going into the pandemic. Taking a wild guess I'd say this would've happened regardless of outside factors and is pretty in line with where pricing would be given a two year hiatus.
Final Hail Mary predication for a Hole reunion(?) headlining set B)

You're a smart one Matt, from the KEXP Twitter: "It’s TWO-FER Tuesday 2/22/22 on @kexp today! Two songs from every artist, all day long. I’m on until 10am and announcing the 2022 @thingnw lineup (and giving away 2 pairs of tix) at 9am! Hope you can join ♥️ 90.3FM" Breath holding engaged.

Are there enough bands to fill three days or am I missing something?

I do like how it's 2022 and the first women-led/female-presenting act on this lineup is like the 12th name down and a full row underneath Triumph the fucking insult comic dog.

Yeah, by the time I actually noticed a woman I felt like I scrolled pretty far. Aside from that, this is not what I envision for a $350 (plus tax/fees and camping/accommodations) festival. Add on the poor conversion rate for Canadians and travel expenses and you're looking at anywhere from a $500-800 weekend for what, Modest Mouse and some mid-tier artists that will more than likely come through Oregon, Washington, and BC again in the next year that will play shows that cost $20-30? Gonna be a no from me. Bummer.

Honestly don't know 1/2 of the names on the lineup but I am guessing it would be a really fun weekend. That price is tough. My wife already said she is out on it but I am leaning towards going. Kids are free so if I take my daughter and I make myself think that I am getting half off for two tickets maybe I can swallow that a bit easier. Still banking on more TBA artists though.

I got that Spelling record as a part of a sub club last year and it has been a difficult one for me to click with. Literally was thinking...this would be a show I would love to see at Thing if it ever happens again. So I kinda feel like I have to go.

Father John Misty playing after Sparks is hilarious. I wish they would switch FJM with Modest Mouse so I could go for just that one day. Otherwise…I think I’m out. The few artists that appeal to me on this lineup have played Seattle in the past 6 months and it cost me a total of about $150. Love me some Triumph, but he ain’t worth the extra $200 + camping.
