Ooo would The Microphones be possible? They did play a show last year. Possibly awesome. Yes please.

Gimme Karl Blau because I need to see him and Modest Mouse because it is inevitable. Ooo would The Microphones be possible? They did play a show last year. I don't think you should really expect Phil to do anything resembling a Microphones tour. The Anacortes show was one 30 minute rambling song where he mocked the idea of a reunion and then like 4 microphones songs. Snacks could book him and Julie Doiron though. Their show a few months back was lovely. Oh and Karl Blau should always be booked anywhere.

Matt Berninger would be fantastic and his solo album is coming out this year. I don't know that Berninger has given any intention he intends to tour solo, but it would be cool! And it would be a trend of giving a solo artist who fronts a former Sasquatch-headlining band a slot at Thing. Of course, Jeff Tweedy's solo career is much different than Matt Berninger's, so it's not an exact comparison, but I would like it! Speaking of front-people of bands who played Sasquatch, Brittany Howard isn't playing the west coast (except for LA) on her long headlining tour this summer. And Stephen Malkmus is playing pacific northwest shows, but I could still see that happening. Chris Funk(who is playing in Malkmus' band this summer)'s dates with The Decemerists conveniently end before Thing!

What if Kurt Vile just plays this THING every year?
Nick don’t respond to this.

Rampantly speculating Adrianne Lenker, I think her recently announced solo tour is going to be a hit and neither her nor Big Thief have late August plans.

I sincerely think that certain people we know and love have straight up lost the fucking plot. This is not the place to have this discussion but I find it genuinely tragic that an album as great as Miss Anthropocene has to be a symptom of this toxicity.

Nathaniel Rateliff, Kevin Morby, and Damien Jurado playing Red Rocks 8/25-26. I know that a festival that runs for 19 years is bound to book most prominent relevant acts, but I still think it's noteworthy that 10 of the top 12 billed musical acts of the inaugural Thing (counting Iron & Wine and Calexico separately) played Sasquatch at least once. Nathaniel Rateliff (plus the Night Sweats, amongst the most terribly-named bands) played Sasquatch once in 2016, and Damien Jurado played Sasquatch three times (2006, 2012, and 2014).

While researching that post, I was reminded how great the July 2014 Sasquatch lineup was. Shame on all of us.

Man Man skips the Northwest on their tour. It wraps up 3 months before Thing, but they’d make sense. Sub Pop is releasing the new album.
