This is my first year attending Sasquatch. I will be camping in general camping and I was wondering if it is best to go on the Thursday when the campsite opens or on Frday morning? Can people give me their thoughts on the pro's and con's of each please??

Getting there Thursday night is better for many reasons.
Setting up and getting acclimated to your surroundings early so that you know where the nearest bathrooms are, how far of a walk to the venue, neighbors, etc.
No one is performing on Thursday night so it ends up being a great time to meet new friends, party a bit, and start the weekend off with as little stress as possible.

Here's another point of view. Last year, they started doing sound checks at the main stage at about 6 am on Friday. Not sure if that's normal, as last year was my first time, but it made for a long day on Friday. New campers started arriving that morning, and they had plenty of time to get set up and meet their neighbors. With the festival back to four days, I am planning on staying with a friend in Yakima, sleeping in until about 9, and getting to the festival Friday morning sometime before noon. Would rather start well rested for the weekend.
Traffic might be an issue though. Does anyone have some experience with the Friday morning traffic levels?

Traffic seems to be pretty hit or miss regardless of when you arrive. They do seem to have gotten a little better in the past couple years, but that might change with the charging for camping thing they now have.
Getting there earlier or later has zero impact on where you end up. It's a total crapshoot and often people who show up later end up closer to the venue. I'd recommend getting there well before the sun goes down thursday so you have a couple hours in line and still some daylight to set up.
I've also never heard any soundchecks from the mainstage in camping, so I'm not sure about that.
