Hey everyone this is just a general question. I work for a company that is a sponsor of Sasquatch and we're going to be doing a ticket giveaway starting tomorrow. I was wondering if it was OK to promote this here in a new thread? I know a lot of forums frown on this so I just wanted to check. I can supply an image to verify I'm legit if need be. If not no worries. The contest is going to be promoted via twitter. We could also possibly giveaway two wristbands to someone on this forum as well if that could be an option. Thanks!

Spam threads are generally not cool around here, but if you want to give some of us free tickets we'll let it slide. Just make sure Goldbeard wins.

Uh yeah, I think that'd be ok. You actually wrote a nice message and didn't just spam the board with a copy and pasted message. This would all be doubly true if you're gonna give a pair away on the board...

To be honest I have no clue how it would work giving some away on this board to keep it fair but I'm sure we could put our heads together to figure it out. Is there a particular admin I could reach out to?

To be honest I have no clue how it would work giving some away on this board to keep it fair but I'm sure we could put our heads together to Dr. Garbanzoure it out. Is there a particular admin I could reach out to? That'd be me, although I will probably not be as concerned as you are about fairness.

Probably wouldn't be too hard to have everyone interested post in a thread and just exclude anyone with less than X number of posts. From their just use a random number generator or something.

In all seriousness, a good way to give tickets away to board folks would be to enter everyone's name who replies to a thread in a specified period of time in a random drawing.

If you figure out a good way to do it, I'll make it happen.

...and then give it to Goldbeard. I do not like this idea. I mean, I like the idea of Goldbeard getting tickets but then I don't get tickets.

Probably wouldn't be too hard to have everyone interested post in a thread and just exclude anyone with less than X number of posts. From their just use a random number generator or something. This is exactly what to do. Anybody under, say 50 posts cannot enter? I know there's some folks who joined the board relatively recently but have been contributing to conversations a lot, so I think 50 is not prohibitively high. We'd probably also have to give folks a few days who don't check the board all the time like some us do.

Also two things, first I realize some may have a moral issue with this. I work for an electronic cigarette company and we are the ones giving them away so anyone who gets a wristband must be over the age of 18.

That won't be an issue here. Be sure to message Gramma or myself if you're serious about making this happen.
