Camping opens at 1pm on Thursday. People will probably be arriving all day Thursday afternoon all the way into early Friday afternoon. The campground is massive. You'll be just fine no matter when you show up.

What will the lineups be like on Friday evening, say 8-9?

Incredibly long, up to 3+ hours. Get there as early as possible if you don't want to miss all of the music.
Edit: I was referring to the line of cars, not sure if that's what we are going on about here.

Everyone will be in the venue. There will be no line.
But basically what fox said. Come on folks...

Maybe I should have phrased:
Hi folks, I have never been to Sasquatch, I am being held up from arriving on Thursday, but anyone who has experience with arriving on the starting day of the festival could give me a rough idea of what the lineup to enter the camping area would be like on the Friday evening, I would appreciate it. Keep in mind, I do not require a definite, down-to-the-minute time, just a rough ballpark of hours would do, you know, as I have never been and you all seem to have been many, many times.
Thanks for the information!

Good point. I always forget that a lot of people probably still leave for the Gorge after they get off work on Friday.

I was pretty serious with my guesstimate. We had friends who got in line at roughly 6-7 on friday night and they didn't make it to the festival grounds until after 10:00. Granted that includes some walking time, but you get the picture. Do not underestimate the possibility of an extraordinary amount of traffic on friday night.

For any of you that may know-Is there a designated area for ADA camping? Last year we lucked out and were directed to the very front row which was right next to one of the ada shuttle pickups. Just wondering if we can guarantee a closer spot for our campmate if we dont magically luck out again. (They will have their ada registration/placard with them for any proof needed.)

I am going to leave Victoria on the 9:00 ferry Friday, so should arrive in the afternoon, I expect to wait a couple hours. Still hoping to go Thursday afternoon.

There most definitely is an ADA camping area. It is just inside the campground gate in the grassy area across from the store. It does not get much ADA use and is used for overflow for Premier camping. The ADA shuttle stops there and takes you backstage to whatever stage you want to go to. If you want to go to a different stage they will pick you up and bring you back to the stage you want to go to. At the main stage they take you to the gate on the right side of the stage. They come every 15 minutes or so. There is also ADA seating at each stage and they have folding metal chairs to sit on if needed. For a venue that is very physically challenging with the hill and the long walk to and from the campground it is amazingly ADA accommodating for people with physical limitations. They really do a great job. Word to the wise, tip the shuttle drivers and they will go out of their way to make sure you get where you need to go.

Still hoping to go Thursday afternoon. I highly suggest taking an earlier ferry if you are leaving on Friday. Whenever I've taken the 9 I haven't gotten to the Gorge until dark. Of course, I am terminally dilly-dally-y though.

I've only ever arrived the day before the festival starts and never day-of, but I can always see the entrance line from my campsite in premier. My memory of the lines is fuzzy before 2010, meaning there probably wasn't much backup to speak of. 2010-2012 we arrived at the Gorge in the evening and waited anywhere between 1.5 and 3 hours to get in. The worst was last year when we hit the end of the line around 8:30pm and didn't get to our campsite until almost midnight. As far as showing up the first day of the festival goes, during that time period I've always seen a heavy backup on Friday starting as early as 7am and it lasts well into the afternoon. I really hope they've somehow found a magic way to funnel people into the campground for this year, but with Live Nation in charge they'll probably just stick with the same broken system.

I always arrive Friday afternoon-ish and the line has always been about 2 hours and I always end up in overflow camping. Good times. Can't wait to do it again this year!
