So, like....it's pretty dead around here. But is anyone else down?
I had a lot of fun doing the one last year.

I'll do it again. I like the idea of head to head just because it leads to more trash talking.

I just finished organizing a work pool today. Interest will need to really pick up today/tomorrow to make it even worth it to go through that again. We need a minimum of 8 to make head to head (or any type of pool for that matter) interesting IMO.

In total we have 5 including the zombie and I... 3 more and I'll set it up, though I can't draft tomorrow since I have my other draft.

So ya'll want to play head to head because you know you can't beat me in rotisserie? Bring it. I'm in.

So ya'll want to play head to head because you know you can't beat me in rotisserie? Bring it. I'm in. I don't want to play rotisserie because it doesn't work for hockey, it was kind of a joke last time. I think whatever format we play you'll do good though, you seem to have a pretty good knack for fantasy sports. How many more do we need? I'd really like to play, and I can't convince enough people at work to do a non-set it and forget type pool.

I'll play. I thought rotisserie worked out pretty well last year. Also, according to ESPN, rotisserie is the most common way to play fantasy hockey.

Well I've played every year since I was probably 10 , and hadn't heard of it until fantasy baseball on this board. The most common I've seen is straight points based, followed by head to head.
Hockey just doesn't have enough important stats to fill out all the categories. But that's just my opinion. I have a question about rotisserie: does it have to include so many categories? Or can you limit the categories? My major beef with it is that normally I wouldn't care about ATOI and Shots on Goal etc.
Having said that I'll play regardless of format.

That's 7, one more makes head to head worth it.
Yes, you can change categories as needed/ Options for categories from yahoo (I have an open yahoo pool in front me right now) are -
Goals Assists Points Plus/Minus Penalty Minutes Powerplay Goals Powerplay Assists Powerplay Points Shorthanded Goals Shorthanded Assists Shorthanded Points Game-Winning Goals Shots on Goal Shooting Percentage Faceoffs Won Faceoffs Lost Hits Blocks
Goaltenders
Games Started Wins Losses Goals Against Goals Against Average Shots Against Saves Save Percentage Shutouts
We are about to draft a head to head pool in about an hour that assigns points based on who wins each category every week. There is also the option to just do a point based system using categories in H2H but I don't really know a lot about how it works.

I didn't realize hockey stared tonight. I created a league with the same settings as last year if anyone is interested. The draft is 8:00 ET (2 hours). It's a public league, so I'm expecting it to fill up in the next hour or so. Go to the following website: games.espn.go.com/fhl/leaguedirectory and search for the league using the league name. League Name: League Name EDIT: I'll still play in a league with you guys, but I just wanted to get one started.

I can ask my father-in-law. He's played in just about every other fantasy league that we have put together. He was also one of the folks that passed you in the last day of fantasy baseball. It was an epic battle for third place. I'm not sure anyone informed you or badchoices though.

Hey fox can you just make the league, we will all join...and if we can't get the 8th we will just make it open to the public?
Gibbons pool filled up in like under 5 minutes today, so I don't think it will be to big of an issue getting an 8th player.

On it... do you guys mind doing it through Yahoo instead? ESPN doesn't work correctly for me at work anymore. That's why I fell off the baseball pool. I did most of my team managing form there...

Yeah I don't care...I'm still down for this. Doesn't really matter that the season has started.
