Consolation to all. This has been an inauspicious day indeed.

Stooooormy, it makes me extra sad that I probably won't be able to give you in real life hugs next weekend But for now, this will have to do. Also, if anyone needs a Main Stage Pass for Sunday (Le Fleur, Social Studies, Bad Weather California, BRAINSTORM, Youth Lagoon, Dan Deacon, Animal Collective), mine is up for grabs- face value, $30.

Aw ®USTY™ that sucks! I just woke up from my night shift (also at a hospital) and I couldn't imagine having to deal with that shit after a 12 hr night shift. I noticed you're from Vic, me too. NO ONE knows how to merge or drive in a parking lot in this city! I was hit from behind 2 years ago. I had a sore neck which I reported, even though it didn't seem like a big deal at the time (there was pain, but manageable pain). The pain would come and go and I ended up in physio for 9 months to strengthen and heal. I did have a lawyer and received a settlement after a year but then one month after I settled my neck began hurting again and has hurt ever since. Lawyer up buddy!

...also, sorry to hear about your bad news as well Nadine and Stormy. I don't know either of you but I do know that the 2 things I worry about most are the two things you both have mentioned, kids and money.

I'm so sorry storms! We will make next weekend two hoots and a holler just to make up for the shit, mark my words. If it makes you feel better, I feel like we have a half decent chance after AC and Deacon to snag some wristbands off people who are finished so we can see Deacon's DJ set!

Fuck Storms, my shitty start to the day doesn't compare to yours. I hope you're doing ok. Things will turn around for the better. I did have a lawyer and received a settlement after a year but then one month after I settled my neck began hurting again and has hurt ever since. Lawyer up buddy! Yeah I just woke up from my nap, and I'm so stiff. I already have to miss my shift tonight, fucking lame. What hospital do you work at? I still have no idea how this lady hit me. I stopped at the yeild sign to leave the parking lot, I had been stopped for about 30 seconds to allow all the cars to pass before I turned...and as the last car went by and I was just about to roll, BAM. I was so fucking startled having been up all night. Funny thing is her car was FUCKED UPP, like completely fucked. My girlfriends fathers Jeep Cherokee had but a scuff on the pooper...who knows if there is some underlying structural damage, but as initial presentations go I think she lost. I felt like an idiot though. I have never been in an accident, I didn't even know what to do. Thank god she was actually a really nice apologetic nurse, she told me everything I needed from her...it was almost as though she had done this before.

I work in the social services sector of health care, one of my clients was admitted last night and I was her support worker so I was obligated to fulfill my shift within the hospital. VGH. We should grab a beer sometime.

There's a VGH in Victoria too? Yeah I know, confusing. Especially since I did my first level at VGH ( Vancouver) and am doing my second level at VGH (Victoria).

What the shit, I wonder if that has ever caused any problems with shipments or people coming to visit people before. It's not like they are that far away. In fact, they are probably two of the biggest hospitals in BC.

To clarify, I don't have children of my own but I am responsible for taking care of 12 high-needs foster kids who live at a treatment center for extreme abuse. That's why I have to testify in court on Monday, I realize without context my original post might lead to some weird assumptions. You're probably no stranger to that, working in social services and all. I'm considering roadtripping to Salt Lake City for the Saturday Animal Collective/Dan Deacon show instead but I'm still a very sad panda about missing Treefort.

When I was fresh out of University (the first time) I thought I wanted to be a probation officer (boooooy was I wrong). I was working in phase 1 probation services and was overwhelmed with how many youths I had to represent in court. It takes its toll on everyone, and like you mentioned earlier, RUINS major plans sometimes. Hope you can make it all work!
