Baby squirrels in the neighbor's attic! It was so cute! Then they finally patched up the hole and those squirrels were pissed.

I just can't escape from my lab. One of our old post-docs did her thesis and a bunch of other work on red squirrel communication- they are super cute animals, but when you have to sit in a lab listening to recordings of them making alarm calls for hours they get annoying.
I'm a much bigger ground squirrel fan.

I work with teens in a kind of after-school program. One of the girls in our program is OBSESSED with squirrels. I can't figure out if it's one of those ironic obsessions (like I had with Spiderman in high school) or if she just really thinks they're cool. Hmm...

Chaco--I was OB-sessed with Spiderman in middle and high school. I mean, obsessed. I saw the first Raimi version of Spiderman movie in theatres probably 8 times and I'm not afraid to admit it. My obsession doesn't stop there, but I'll leave it at that. Crazy. |
