Nice to see that welcoming American spirit though! I guess that's why I chose to move to Canada rather than America! One American does not all Americans make. Just like everywhere else. That is not a very nice attitude. I know, I wasn't having a go at all Americans I was using his logic (in a sarcastic way) - probably should have been clearer on that.

Sorry, I just hate bearing the brunt of all of the assholes in my country.
Anyway, soccer, yeah. I actually don't watch sports, but have fun!

It's tough that's true and esp seen as I'm a United fan and I will no doubt be going to watch them get handed their asses again but what the hell, it's been building up to this point all season and I'd really hate to miss it. We're sticking a car in the parking lot, I assume you can come and go as you please with that? Our other 2 cars we'll leave at the camp site. 1hr each way too.... game's at 12, be back for 3 when the good bands kick off - hopefully celebrating United's 4th European cup! ohhh. you're a United fan. well then, nevermind. that explains your irrationality. i change my mind. as an Arsenal supporter, i fully encourage you to go watch the game. and then get lost on your way back.

I'll put the skitters in yer Alan Whickers, you plonker! Murrica. Derp. I thought you'd be a bit more open minded than that HG. Soccer is slowly gaining popularity in the US and it is the most popular sport in the world by a hell of a long shot. Open minded? About soccer? You're displaying how little time you've been on the board, davers. I know it's a big fucking deal everywhere else. America is also bonkers for professional golf, NASCAR and Ultimate Fighting. Only people who care about soccer (or any of those things) is going to tell you that it's "gaining popularity" and expect that to mean anything. IT IS SOCCER. You are so misinformed that it's sad. Of the things of which I am ignorant, I am proudly ignorant. Come on, Pea. HG-101.

i would thoroughly enjoy an HG Sport of the Day thread. it'd be really amusing to read his in-depth take on Curling and badminton.

A Record a Day = R.A.D. A Sport a Day = S.A.D.
It wasn't meant to be.

I guess what I meant is that it is a sporting event that only lame Canadians care about. First of all I'm not Canadian, I'm Irish, and secondly Canadians probably care less about soccer than Americans do. Nice to see that welcoming American spirit though! I guess that's why I chose to move to Canada rather than America! Anyway, I've found a place in Ellensburg that will show it. Bit of a road trip that morning! But if anyone knows somewhere closer I'm all ears!! - Soccer is the fourth most participated sport by adults in Canada. Ice Hockey is second (behind Golf, if you can believe it) - Soccer is played by 44% of all children aged 5-14 in Canada. Hockey is played by only 27% of children aged 5-14. - Hockey still kills Soccer when it comes to TV ratings in Canada, CFL and Curling are highly ranked as well, followed by the Blue Jays. - Quincy is a bit closer than Ellensburg, and it appears as though Google will tell you there are a couple of sports bars in town that may play a Champions League Final.

You know what else displays how much time I've been on this board? The little date to the left down there. I never said it would mean anything, but you paint a picture of a country of 300+ million people and not one of them gives a rats ass about soccer, which is simply untrue. Your city just got an MLS (Major League Soccer) team this year and you sit there with your fingers in your ears yelling soccer will never get any more popular. You dont like it, fine, you never had to post on this thread to being with.

Sounds like a pretty popular American sport. No?
I am still determined to go to a Sounders game. Maybe when I live in Portland I will be able to head up there sometime. Pea, we have to go to a game man. One of these days.

Remove pickle from butt k thx. Sorry, broad generalized statements kinda piss me off. Also, the dude had a legit question and you basically gave him shit for asking it (though you did sort of answer it too). Anyway, you should expect a shit storm when you call champions league a lame canadian event. Soccer fans get pretty passionate about it. Think canadians and hockey or rednecks and nascar. Oh, and its not a pickle up there, right now its just a green bean, gotta work my way up to the pickle otherwise I might hurt myself.

Yeah, but I love Seattle sports and I love the crowd in Seattle so I would rather drive up to see the Sounders at Qwest field.

I was hoping this thread was about some variation of the Wizard's Council. Turns out it is about some Canadian sporting event. LAME.[/b][/quote] "The Residents' are nothing but a hack sideshow of the 'Rocky Horrow Picture Show'.
