Word.
I hope the Oilers stay relatively healthy this year. I can't take another season of non stop injuries.

First off: Fuck Yes, Maple Leafs Win. This may be confusing , as I'm from B.C , but my true team, since I was like 4, has been the Leafs. Even though they are generally a constant disappointment, I still pull for them.
Secondly: Holy shit Calgary played fucking awful. I'm not going to say what I really think because I know there are some awesome Calgary boarders here. I know it is an overused line , but they, " looked like Chickens running around with their heads cut off". Lets hope that Morrison returning and a healthy Iggy will make them better than bad.
Thirdly: Did anyone watch the after hours with Marc-Andre Fleury? It was really good. They showed some clips comparing him to J-C Petite from the McDonalds commercials a few years ago.
JC Petite
M-A Fleury:(skip to around 1 minute mark)
I see some similarities haha.

Fuck that Flames game was AWFUL. I am not looking forward to watching 81 more games of that garbage. What an unlikeable team too, Giordano and Iggy are the only players worth a damn.

Win #1 for the 'Nucks tonight. Aside from the wrap-around in the 2nd period I thought Schneider played really well. I hope #33 is okay!

I wish Seattle had an NHL team.
(Question: When reading the above, did you read "N H L" or "National Hockey League"? I have a hard time telling which article to use with acronyms.)

An NHL team in Seattle would be awesome. And yes, I read "N-H-L" and therefore use "an" as you do, and all should. Seattle can have the Coyotes, and I think they should change the name to the Supersonics because it's an awesome name. Since the basketball team played there I only assume the Key is suitable for an NHL team, but where would the Thunderbirds play? Maybe the Ronald McDonald rink can accommodate them?

The t-birds would move in the event that Seattle got an NHL team, similar to the Winnipeg Jets/Manitoba Moose.

I've always been a Habs fan in terms of NHL. I think part of that now is that I live 3 blocks from the 'dome and traffic is hell coming home from work on game nights. Still, even when I was a kid, my priorities were always: 1) Montreal 2) Whoever was playing against Calgary 3) Whoever was playing against Winnipeg When Calgary played against Winnipeg, I had apoplexy and cheered for Calgary.

Samuelsson and Sturm to the Panthers for Booth and Reinprecht and a 3rd round pick in 2013. Umm I might have missed something but how the fuck is Reinprecht and Booth worth the same value as Samuelsson and Sturm? Is Reinprecht even playing in the NHL anymore?

Booth is 26 and a 30 goal scorer on a shitty team. Samuelsson is 35 and used to score 30.
Samuelsson is in the final year of his contract and Booth has 3 years.
Both Sturm and Reinprecht are AHL players but Sturm was on a one way contract so sending him to the minors could have meant losing him on waivers and getting nothing at all.
Seems to me Florida got the short end of this deal, very much like every other trade they've ever done with us.

Booth is a one time 30 goal scorer, it's not like that is the normal quota for him. I don't know, they can have Sturm, but I've grown to like Samuelsson, I guess I was just surprised.

I like Samuelsson too but he's getting older now (for a hockey player) and Booth has a lot of years left in him. He also showed a lot of bounce back last year after missing a lot of the previous one with a concussion.

Since everyone is talking about fantasy football in the other thread I just have to give a shout out to Sid the Kid for netting me 4 points in his first game in almost a year. I knew it was worth it to keep him on injury reserve all those months.
He scored on his first shot, what the fuck.

Seriously, what a first game back for Sid the Kid.
Tonight's game is in 2nd intermission and so far no action from any Penguins. Will Crosby save the day?
EDIT: nope.

So many people were like, " well that was a shitty team , and the goalies second ever start.. blah blah blah." Fuck that, he got four points after missing 3/4 of a year, I don't care what team/goalie it is, that was amazing.
