This was not an easy thing to do! Making mixes for friends and family is one thing because for the most part whatever I throw on is new to them. But making mixes for a message board full of knowledgeable music fanatics was another thing altogether. It took some time and I think I've listened to my mix about 50 times over, trying to get the flow right, the volumes adjusted and whatnot. At this point I just had to stop otherwise I would have ended up fucking it up somehow.
In the end I am very happy with it and I hope the person on the recieving end is as well.

I had an epiphany this morning so I have a good idea for a theme now, and just need to piece it together.

Alright, my disc is burned and the letter's all written. The post office is a bit out of my way so I'll probably wind up mailing it out early next week.

Gave the mix another listen after letting it sit for a week and changed a couple of songs for the last time!! My CD is going out in the mail tomorrow.

Going to finally do this today. Thing I'm going to do the stream-of-conscious process. I'll figure out a first song (think I already know), then just try to figure out what I'd like to hear next until I finish the CD.

Will probably have mine sent out next Friday. It's a little cheesy, but a fun theme! Please don't hate me person who is getting this.
By the way, what kind of program are you guys using to adjust the volume on the tracks? It seems to be a constant problem with my mixes.

I'm quite positive this is the hardest thing I've done. Does anyone know how to change when a song ends? Some of the ones I want to use have too much dead space at the end of the song.

My problem is that I've really just been listening to what people have been suggesting on here, so I'm having a really hard time trying to find stuff that people haven't heard. I don't want to send someone a mix of everything they already have.

Souly, I am in no way trying to come up with 70 minutes of music no one has ever heard before. I don't think that really needs to be your goal.

And Fox, I'm not going out of my way or anything, just looking at posts to see if the person mentioned the band. I'm just trying to make it sound ok, and fill it with songs I think anyone could like.

Theres a chance that most (if not all) of my songs are fairly well known... But they fit really well with the theme. There is just a few quiet tracks that I would like to make a little louder...

My brother thinks my 'theme' is retarded. I think it's fun. Doesn't really have anything to do with the music though.

The lady who tattooed me was telling me that her and her friends did one, and the theme was "songs you would play for your fifteen year old self to help yourself through it all." I thought that was an excellent theme.
