I can't believe y'all don't know this.
If you make a purely audio CD (not mp3, not enhanced, not data stuff with it blah blah) is 80 minutes. I think it even says on the discs themselves.
With that, I completely must have glossed over the under 70 minutes rule, clocking in at a little over 79 minutes. Sowee. And I already mailed mine out yesterday too.

I think lumpy's is my favorite. And if you can fit more than 70 minutes onto a cd, then by all means, do it! Throwback this is. This was my AIM name in middle school. (save i just used a regular e instead of a 3, but I had to dress to the occasion). I loved the REAL punk rock (ya know, the old Green Day shit) and put a little garage band together with my friends called Microwavable Chicken Dinner (named due to my love of Microwavable Chicken Dinners) and covered weezer songs and 1 jimi hendrix song.

WHOOPS! Until this most recent discussion I too missed the under 70 minute thing. OH WELL! More bang for your buck I guess.
Just out of curiosity, why was the under 70 minute rule applied in the first place?

Wow, it has been a very long time since I last burned a CD. I completely forgot how much room for audio they have! I just looked at an old disc and it plainly says "700MB, 80min" on it. I think the instructions for "under 70 minutes" combined with remembering 700MB threw me off. Looks like my mix is complete!

Yeah I know it says 80 minutes/700mb on mine, but with my mix at 74 minutes I'm only at like 200 mb. I'm stopping because I like how my mix is, but it appears as though I should be able to put a lot more on. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think it goes more by the 700mb(actual space) than the 80 minutes. Also why with 18 songs am I only at 200mb, does anyone know, is my itunes compressing my shit without permission?

If you make it an mp3 cd with folders etc. you can add hundreds of files. If you want it to play in a CD player it must be less than 80 minutes.

When you burn an audio CD that you want to play in a normal CD player your burning software converts the files (from mp3 or whatever) to a special format. I believe it's called .cda and it's similar to a .wav? At any rate, this format has a larger file size, and a normal CDR will accommodate 80 minutes of audio in this format. Original CDR's could only handle 650MB/74min if I remember correctly. That being said, back in the day of making mix CD's I remember reading about CDR's that could burn over 80 minutes worth of audio. I never tried them out, and I don't think all CD players could handle them.

Ok I get it now. So the 700mb is total size if you wanted to put other files, but if you want a playable mix it needs to be under 80 minutes. Well at 74 minutes my mix is perfect and ready to be shipped to one lucky person!

Bingo!
Yeah, fortunately my car plays mp3 CD's and with those I've fit 15 hours of audio on a CD before.

Whew, just finished my mix! Mercy on the poor soul who gets it, but I just pretty much lost my mind listening to it. I believe I've cracked some sort of universal code with my song sequencing. I'm seeing the world in Game Genie vision right now. It's pretty much all just music to have fun to. Yup.
