It always pisses me off whenever something is sold out and Ticketmaster just says "Sorry we couldn't find anything, but tickets still may be available!" JUST SAY THE FUCKING SHOW IS SOLD OUT!

There was a big dust-up about it when Springsteen toured a couple years ago; Ticketassmaster itself listed tickets to several shows on that tour on StubHub that hadn't even been sold yet. That's so fucking shady. And then against all reason, at the beginning of 2010 the Justice Department approved the merger between Ticketmaster and LiveNation. Now think about this: why would Coachella AND Sasquatch both sell out in one week? Just based on ticket sales to these festivals in ALL previous years, how is that even possible? Put the two pieces together: Ticketmaster buying up its own tickets and selling them at scalper prices. A merger occurring roughly a year ago, with roughly a year to plan the assault on the following year's music festival seaon. There's still ticket limits on these things; how many fucking scalpers are there? Enough to buy 60,000 Coachella tickets? Fuck, of course not. THOSE TICKETS WERE NEVER EVEN ON THE MARKET. TICKETMASTER STILL HAS THEM AND IS SELLING THEM SECOND MARKET.[/i][/u][/quote] I seem to recall a TicketMaster exec being quoted as saying that all tickets should be sold on an auction-style system. The idea being, of course, that the most hardcore fans will gladly shell out for the seats that they really want. And this is progress, of course, because having more cash certainly denotes a greater level of dedication than merely sitting in a line for days. TicketMaster is like a daycare run by someone who loathes children.

Back in my day you had to walk barefoot in the snow uphill both ways to get tickets and you liked it. I actually liked it. This gave me a good laugh.

Ticket scalpers are the scum of the earth!
BTW, if anybody is looking for a hotel room, I booked one for 5 nights May 27 - June 1, and am only needing it for May 27 through May 30. If anyone wants the other two nights, I will sell it to you for $250 a night. It's one of the closest hotels for the festival so this is a GREAT DEAL!

There is no way this presents any insane logistical problems for anyone. Line up with your checkbooks out, folks.

I'm open to auctioning the room if the demand is high enough!
