Ah fuck, VIP camping is only available in pairs. Don't they know I want to go because I don't have a +1?

I'm going to do my best noob impression, like that girl who got banned the other day, so here goes it. Is "tent city" car camping, or do you have to park in a parking lot and haul your gear to the tent spot, like how coachella used to be. The site is full of RV camping options, but isn't specific about car camping. I assume a large percentage of the festival drives there? Also (here comes the rich asshole part), I remember reading on another message board five years ago that VIP camping is the way to go, because you are guaranteed a spot by the entrance, instead of possibly being miles away. I don't see VIP camping either. Did they get rid of that? www.bonnaroo.com/tickets/tent-city/www.bonnaroo.com/festival-info/camping/A+

Renting an RV would be the fucking way to go at Bonnaroo! Last year Burrito and I were like, "If we ever came back to Bonnaroo, it will be in an RV." But we're poor assholes, so that probably won't happen.

I would definitely do the RV if for some reason I went back. The late night sets are great, but the problem is staggering back to your tent as the sun come up and then not being able to sleep because it's too fucking hot.
The people who were dragging their shit to tent city looked fucking miserable, I wouldn't recommend that option either. It's a pretty good hike. Although we went with a large group and set up one tent at tent city and stocked it with supplies so we wouldn't have to walk all the way back to our car during the day. That worked pretty well.
I did the sleep in the wal-mart the night before the gates open and go get in line when the sun comes up....and it still took us over 5 hours to get to the campsite....but we got a pretty good spot.
Fuck, just writing this is making me mad. FUCK Bonnaroo.

The biggest catch-22 of the weekend. If it weren't for Goldbeard and his magic potions Burrito and I would have collapsed mid-fest from lack of sleep and been incinerated by the sun. Gonna have to plan for at least one solid night of sleep this year.

I don't see VIP camping either. Did they get rid of that? Fucking noobs. Yes, Bonnaroo has regular tent-next-to-your-car camping, and yes it is utilized by the majority of attendees. The amount of space you get is closer to Coachella size than Sasquatch, although it is not clearly defined like Coachella is, so you have to stake your claim like at Sasquatch. I know nothing about VIP camping because I can go a weekend without using a bidet, but I do know that the RV camping area is deliberately close to the entrance. Pro tip: festival names are proper nouns, ya douchebag.

Pro tip: festival names are proper nouns, ya douchebag. Pro tip: In American English, it is proper to capitalize the first word following a colon if it is an independent clause, YA DOUCHEBAG.

Pickathon announced its lineup today: www.pickathon.com/lineup/I haven't gone before, but with a lineup including Feist, Andrew Bird, Divine Fits, Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten, Shabazz Palaces, The Felice Brothers, Foxygen, King Tuff, and White Fence, I'm considering going this year. Has anyone gone to Pickathon before?

Has anyone gone to Pickathon before? I consider it every year, because I can basically walk to it, but this festival is directed at a very specific crowd, and I am not a folkster. The price has always deterred me. It is more expensive per day than Sasquatch, yet the headliners almost never crack the top 10 billed acts at Sasquatch. The Pickathon plus is each band plays multiple days, so if you really like the lineup, you'll probably get a couple chances to see your favorites play. The lineup: Fuck yes to the Felice Brothers. Vieux Farka Toure would be interesting, just because his deceased father is a guitar legend. I don't remember how(e) I got into Howe Gelb, but I have at least one of his albums memorized. Sallie Ford is a blast. When did Wayne "the Train" Hancock start going by "Wayne Hancock." I've never seen his name without "the Train" before now. Other than that, I'm not very interested in the lineup.

When does Outside Lands' lineup get released? I'm thinking of doing another festival this year, and it's the best for timing, ie: not still broke from Sasquatch, not yet broke from Rifflandia.

Apparently super last minute I'm playing SXSW this year if anyone's around (and so I can fit my annoying "Lump brags about dumb shit" posts into 1, apparently I'm opening for Band of Horses in May). Somebody help me figure out how to not die. I'm kinda stressed about this.

Don't be too impressed. It's more the fact I'm friends and play bass with a dude that is a big deal of a songwriter and happens to be friends with Ben Bridwell.
