I've been a very casual Spurs fan for a couple of seasons, but I'm definitely going to follow them a lot closer now. Really glad to see he was able to get away from FFC after all.

Will he start their next game? They play tomorrow. No way they would have him in the lineup already. It will be fun to watch Bale and Dempsey on the same side

I cannot believe that the USA didn't score more goals yesterday. They were dominating that game and were punishing the woodwork. Jamaica's keeper had an amazing game. Hey, at least it is better than the result down there. I am planning on making the trip to Brazil in 2014 and it would be a real bummer if we didn't qualify (like the Olympics).

Eddie saved the USA in both of these games. He makes us a hell of a lot better. Glad to see the form carry over to the international squad. Hexagonal here we come

Congrats to the team! But let's be honest, their squad really should be able to beat teams like Guatemala and Antigua/Barbuda fairly convincingly. I'm happy they advanced, but they really need to step up their game. Also, Dempsey in a Tottenham jersey makes me nauseous. However, not nearly as nauseous as seeing Van Persie in a United jersey. Seriously, fuck that guy!

That game last night was so frustrating. The Sounders outplayed RSL with 10 men for 60 minutes. I have never heard a ref get boos from the crowd and be called out by name like that. It was pretty funny. Also, Gspurning came up HUGE in that stoppage time

It was very frustrating, but it was also some of the best football I've ever seen from Seattle. They played with so much fucking heart last night, and absolutely dominated RSL even after going down a man. Sucks not to get the three points, but it gave me a really good feeling going into the playoffs in a few weeks.
Those boos and "Salazar sucks!" chants came across nicely on TV, eh?

I actually ended up getting a chance to go to the game but didn't get there until kick and had to drive to Bellingham right after. I got home and watched it again because they didn't play any of the controversial replays in the stadium. Sigi ripped Salazar in his half time interview hardcore. It was pretty funny actually.

What the hell is up with this "football" comment anyway? We 'Mericans' understand the rest of the world calls soccer "futbol," but here in the good old USA, "football" means that sport which is by far the most popular sport on our continent. It's so important to Americans, it's championship is the day least likely for couples to be wed. The fucking league is called, "Major League Soccer." Do you know how ridiculous "Major League Football" sounds, and how much Americans would be pissed off it was called this? On the flip side, do you know how many Europeans would be pissed off if one of theirs said, "Those blokes played an outstanding game of soccer today." It is gigantically pretentious, nearly as pretentious as this post. Don't get me wrong, this isn't my opinion because I hate the sport. I don't. It's easy to hate soccer when 90 minutes of play routinely ends in a tie, but I'm not that much of a hater. I've played disc golf for 16 years, and I still think it's ridiculous when disc golfers call the sport "golf," while calling the real sport of golf, "ball golf." Fuck that. I'm fairly certain every American non-soccer fan will agree with me here, and every die hard soccer fan will at least understand you might be doing an injustice to your country by calling soccer "football."

One of my favorite ways to fuck with my family, all of whom call soccer by 'football' and football by 'throwball,' is to call both sports football and talk about them interchangeably in the same conversation. Poor saps, they never know which football I'm talking about.
It's all about the little things.
