I like the japanese art. I was once contemplating getting a samurai scene of some sort on my back. A samurai would be so fuckin' awesome. I had narrowed my back piece down to this one I am working on and a samurai. You should DO IT! |

Just looked at the pic again (since looking at my actual back is quite difficult) and I can't believe how much more work there is still to do... faaaaaaak. I'm in over 20+ hours for sure so far, probably another 12- 16 to go.

This fucking thread. I get way too jealous when I see other people getting tattoos. Pretty much said fuck it and scheduled a consultation for this evening. Hopefully some new ink next week!

Pea FTW! I was contemplating a little road trip after Sasquatch to Portland because one of my favorite shops is there, Scapegoat Tattoo. If you live in that area go and check them out! All the artists there are amazing, my favorite happens to be Ryan Mason. |

So today I began the preparation for my knuckle tattoos, which meant laser surgery to remove one little tattoo on a single knuckle. Otherwise known as, stupid kid mistake!
It's a pretty cool process ( I found it interesting anyways):
First he takes a "vacuum tube" that blow the coldest air you've ever felt.
Once it feels like the body part is about to fall off like a broken icicle (in this case my finger), the robotic looking laser arm is fired up and the coldness is suppose to counter act the laser's heat. With both the extremely cold air and the laser shooting at the tattoo it is weird pain similar to electrolysis (a bit more painful though), and a sound like mosquitoes being fried by those weird "bug lights".
So here's the basic premise- the lasers go through the epidermis, and the specific wave length only hits the pigment laying between the epidermis and the dermis. The heat crystallizes the ink and thus leaving the body to question what this new foreign object is, prompting your system to push it out i.e- scabs, and may absorb some as well which is processed through the liver and kidneys.
So that's what I did today.

I'm going with Ink City Tattoo in Bonney Lake. They have an artist there that has done some really fucking nice work on some of my friends and charges about half what Hidden Hand does. Appointment is all set up for the 27th  |
