Yeah it has been a blast. We are crate training her at night which is really hard because when she whines I just want to let her sleep in the bed but I am not opening that door.

Crate training is one of the best decisions I made with my pup! Stick with it, you'll thank yourself later. (although now, 8 years later, she sleeps in my bed, leaving a small space for me. But still, her crate is her own personal safe space that she can go when scared or puts all her toys when I tell her to clean up.)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It is tough! Nobody really ever tells you how much work a puppy is at the beginning (like how they have to pee every 20 minutes!), but it's not just all cuddles and playing and cuteness. Just be consistent and really overly excited when he gets stuff right, and in no time he'll be really well trained. I love that my dog can tell the difference between which toy I'm asking for, will go get my mom's socks from upstairs, and won't eat anything unless I give her permission. It was hard work and it was worth every second of it. A good tip for getting him to love his crate (if you're not already doing it) is to soften some of his food with water and put it inside a kong toy, cover the opening of the toy with peanut butter and then freeze the toy; once frozen, tie it to inside of the open door of the crate and let him at it. He should end up inside the crate working at getting the food out of the toy for like forty minutes (which gives you a great break from constant entertaining) and he'll learn to associate his crate as a fun place to go, that isn't scary even when the door closes. And don't ever use his crate as place to go when punished until after he already loves it (and even then, try not to be mad sounding when you send him there).

Introducing the newest member of the household: Scout! She's 10 weeks old, and to give an idea of how small she is, that blue thing in the picture is the dog's frisbee (about 7 inches across). It's been an interesting few days for everyone to adjust but so far, so good. The first night was pretty exhausting for all and I got hardly any sleep since she chose to sleep right on my chest, tucked under my chin (which, yes, was so fricken cute! but a very awkward sleep for me). Scout and the dog haven't interacted directly too much but they are able to be in the same room together for small periods. The dog is very curious about her, but at the same time kinda frightened of her (it's really funny to see Chaos get all scared and try to hide behind me because of this half pound kitten). Scout on the other hand is slightly cautious but hasn't once tried to hide from Chaos, instead always making sure she is out in the open so she can see the dog. Today the dog and her both lay together on my bed for about half an hour, sitting less than a foot from each other. However this development only happened because Scout seems to think Chaos' wagging tail is a toy and was trying to hunt it until she realized the dog seemed to come with it.
