Yeah there does seem to be a lot of rap, and a lot of different kinds of rap. 2 Chainz is the best.

Do you know the other name, or just that there was another name? That makes total sense to me, because if you put Rolling Stones on top of Saturday and Daft Punk (or anybody) in place of RHCP on Sunday, then you have a more typical Coachella lineup.

A lot of really cool stuff I never expected on this lineup. Funny how everyone lost their shit over the Primavera lineup because their undercard was so great, yet people are bitching about Coachella because their headliners suck. I wonder what the consensus would be if the Knife was at Coachella instead of Primavera? Major advantages of Primavera over Coachella: Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Death Grips, John Talabot, Fuck Buttons, Jesus and Mary Chain, THE KNIFE, Fiona Apple, The Breeders, Daphni, My Bloody Valentine, Dan Deacon Advantages of Coachella over Primavera: Modest Mouse, Sigur Ros, Violent Femmes, Vampire Weekend, Grimes If I could choose, I would take Primavera. I'm thrilled to be going to one of them.

This is shitty for Coachella. I can't help but think that there was a bigger name intended in place of Phoenix (DP, Rolling Stones), and I think Phoenix is in that zone where they could be the sub-headliner if one of those big acts pulls a Prince 2007.
I think I'm most disappointed that The Knife won't be there, but Pea's news about them maybe hopefully being at Sasquatch relieves that disappointment. Still, there are a lot of bands I've never seen and will be thrilled to see (Sigur Ros, Hot Chip, Nick Cave, WU TANG), many bands that I've seen but am excited to see again (YYYs, Modest Mouse, Grizzly Bear, Vampire Weekend), and a few bands that I am going to have to work on but I think I will like (Blur, Stone Roses, New Order...basically everything Stamper loves).
There is a serious chance, now, that Sasquatch will be as good or better.

I live in Montana. Where conspiracy theorists instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. Weather patterns are still only legally reffered to as conspiracy in Montana, right? YOU FOUND A PATTERN!?!?! I must know

I used to be like that. I mostly let it wash over me and through me, now. And when it is gone, only I remain.

I can fault him for utter lack of awareness. He's played dozens of festivals in non-headlining roles, he knows you can't exceed your allotted time, and he knew it would take the whole time to play the album without bullshit, yet he bullshat. No excuses.
No more flaming lips talk, my blood pressure can't afford it.

CHUD lives in Helena, MT. Only my friend Cole and his wife Eileen ever play in Helena. Colin Meloy did a solo show there when he was home for Christmas a couple years ago. Bill Cosby is supposed to do a joke showcase there purty soon, too. He'll probably do Sasquatch, too. But, yeah, usually Helena shows consist of drunk karaoke. Actually they've had some great comedians. Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Bill Cosby, a few other big names. Like once every four years. Colin Meloy can't even get the whole band together to come to his hometown anymore. They played at the middle school when I was a sophomore in college.

That was just someone who typed the word 'monklish' into the name field. Paul Toilet also posted something in there, but I'm willing to bet that isn't the same guy who runs Coachella. First, it's Paul Tollett, second, (edit) you are correct.

Most people who bought a presale pass to Coachella did so for the same reason I did - because every year the lineup is awesome. There has not been a Coachella I would not attend because of the lineup. There are bigger parties and other places to be "seen." Coachella is Coachella because of the lineup, everything else hinges on that.
It will be great again this year, too.
