im pretty sure massive attack has the same set length. and of course massive attack is closing the main stage. they're huge. for about 20 years now. probably the biggest act in the entire lineup. anyone who expected it to be the other way around just didn't understand how big massive attack really is.

ive been in a fuck ton of pits. some more violent then others, but never in something as sad as those fat chics and never in something so angry and senseless that you walk out severly bruised and bloodied. i enjoy the pits where a band that isnt so hardcore is rocking out and everyone kinda unintentionally and naturally dances/jumps in unison and pits where the band is hardcore and everyone is just feeling the songs and break downs and starts trucking eachother and stuff... at either end of that spectrum its pretty much a big collection of awesome energy. wimpy half assed push pits are awkward. slam dance competitions and round kicks i just dont understand. wtf?!?! www.liveleak.com/view?i=6a8_1174397221&c=1little help with the vid

not demanding a schedule. just something clearer than soon... 6 weeks isnt exactly soon sometimes i want the schedule so bad. like a little gift to help ease the anxiety. other times i dont care cause regardless of how much planning i do before hand i know ill end up just riding the festival out and end up being w/e sasquatch wills me to be. in the past how accurate have the time slots been anyway??

boys noize is gonna kill it. im sure ween is gonna be amazing. epic for all their fans. personally, ive never heard of ween until the line up was announced. i asked around and my friends who have heard of them said they are great musicians. ive given them a listen and decided im not even gonna try and get into them before sas. itll save me some conflict and time, time i need to listen to the new lcd, mtb, bss, boh, mgmt and portugal albums...
i feel exactly the same way about about pavement...
to each his own... dont be a music nazi... theres plenty of fantastic music for everyone!!!
love and peace on the sasquatch boards!!

live sets are dope. you get to see the artist playing a bunch of their tracks, mixing them together in ways they can only do while live, and tweaking or remixing the tracks on the fly. its pretty awesome.
dj sets are mostly the artist playing a bunch of their favorite tracks, mostly from other artists but also some of their own (usually remixes and stuff). this is what im more accustomed to. sometimes the artist takes the set in a different direction than you were anticipating and that can sometimes lead to some sort of disappointment... but more often it leads to some sort of an awesome fucking surprise.
i dig both. when you know the music well it kind of pays off with the live sets, being able to hear the bass line of one track being mixed into the synth part of another track in a way that can only happen live leads to a pretty unique experience. its what deadmau5 does all the time, finds different ways to mix his tracks together... over and over and over and over again. dj sets are fun too. different vibe.
i dont really have a preference most of the time, ive seen smd live and it was awesome, but the whole reason i even love them so much is because of their mixes. with smd it doesnt really matter if its live or not, to me atleast. they didnt have a band at ultra, or an electric drum set, was just them and the equipment they use to make their music.
sometimes theres a bigger difference between an artists live act vs their dj set... example: calvin harris, chromeo, and booka shade
