I don't care how many LP's you buy, a donnie darko reference instantly makes you uncool in my books.
(just kidding!)
(about you're not being cool... not about donnie darko)

Well stated. I was at the Vancouver show. I'm came straight from class and missed Calexico, but apparently their sound was awful (while some consider the Coliseum the best for stadium shows in Vancouver over BC place/Rogers arena, it's still not very good), though It sounded fine for AF. I'm a bit curious if there are arenas that have great sound? I'm just speaking my mind here, but I would think arenas in general are designed to amplify noise; the home field/court advantage. Do head coaches ever think to themselves, "I appreciate the sound quality at this establishment. The acoustics here really emphasize the voice of the guy in the upper deck screaming profanities about my mother." I agree, though i think they must do something to the arena(s) to make it sound better. The sound for Arcade Fire was actually pretty good, even better some club shows i thought, and sounded nothing like at a hockey game or whatever. I wonder if newer stadiums/arenas are built with some sort of built in retractable or removable equipment that help with acoustics? It's obvious i know nothing about the workings of stadiums.

I checked some setlists and we're the only show that didn't get Ocean of Noise with Calexico (we got Suburban War instead). I wonder if Calexico got super pissed during their set because of lousy sound. Was anyone else at the Vancouver show? How was Ocean of Noise for those that saw it? I think I prefer Suburban War as a song but that would've been cool to see.
Arcade Fire were awesome, but a two song encore? No My Body is a Cage? C'monnnnnnnn

yeah i just noticed what a bizarre list that is. Myxomatosis and Anyone Can Play Guitar but no Morning Bell, Idioteque, Exit Music or even Creep?
Regardless, Paranoid Android is the correct answer

Yeah I forgot about bassnectar but he'd be sweet too. And fuck yah Dan Deacon, though I'd rather him do his solo thing in the middle of the crowd, which makes better sense for during the day. I wouldn't complain if the Ensemble played a late set though.

Let's talk possible late sets for Sasquatch 2011!
Only in my dreams:
Justice Fatboy Slim Basement Jaxx
Decent possibilities (due to hype, mostly) :
Empire of the Sun Chromeo Major Lazer Sleigh Bells Klaxons !!! Die Antwoord
Probably better suited for the tent, but possible:
Calvin Harris Bloody Beetroots Crookers 2manyDJs
typically late sets (not just sasquatch) are reserved for dance acts but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some high energy rock or metal bands play too. Maybe GWAR or Andrew W.K.?
whaddayall thinking?

If we're talking small bands that should get bigger then I suggest Adam Zacks get on Everything Everything. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnGoEYJ3pmgtypical british post-punk/new wave cross, except this is AWESOME. Can't wait to hear their full album.

^^Pretty much agree with that. My optimistic guesses for headliners are Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and either Belle and Sebastian or The Shins, with the subheadliners being Interpol, Phoenix, and Death Cab. For late night slots I would love, love, love the Chemical Brothers and Justice, though I think either of them could headline a night, especially Chemical Brothers (they're roughly the same in popularity as Massive Attack, right?). A more conservative guess would be Bassnectar and Chromeo, which would still be amazing. Would think Matt and Kim, and Santigold are good possibilities as mid day mainstage dance acts. With that "Fuck You" song starting to blow up It'd be sweet if Cee-Lo were there. I can't see Sasquatch not booking Die Antwoord this year. I also wouldn't be surprised if Bad Religion is there as they're making an effort at some sort of comeback. It'd be great if Cake took over the spot that TMBG left. those are my educated suggestions/ guesses. edit: oh, and even though I have a feeling he'd hate Sasquatch (though he did play coachella), bring me motherfucking APHEX TWIN
