On a side note that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread (but rather the idea of it, my apologies) my biggest problem with sasquatch (besides all that no reentry bullshit) is that the stages are set up as a hierarchy of bands. The larger acts play the main, the new buzz bands/indie acts play the wookie and the smaller bands play the Yeti. The schedules are then designed to rank the bands in the order that sasquatch views their popularity. This bugs me for two reasons, one you inevitably get a bunch of conflicts at the end of the day which we are seeing here, but even more than that it turns the event into more of a "concert" than a "festival." What I mean by this is at other festivals i've attended a lot of the fun comes in wondering from stage to stage and catching some good mid days acts before going back to the campground and resting up for the headliners. It would be cool if sasquatch put some of the bigger wookie acts on during the early part of the day, then faded into some weaker ones then maybe closed out with a big one. Same thing with the Yeti. I also think some smaller bands on the main in exchange for some larger bands on the Wookie would add to the festival feel of catching different acts in different stages (giving the feel of a different venue).....well thats my rant....take to for what its worth. oh and for the record I'm most concerned about the dr.dog/camera obscura vs. Band of Horses/MGMT situation Who the hell is Vince Mira? Who were the Heartless Bastards? I was the only person (this is a fact) who came out early to see The Gaslight Anthem last year. On the other hand, maybe you've heard of Bon Iver? Or Mos Def? Or this dude who calls himself Girl Talk? Did anyone but me care about 65daysofstatic in 08? Who the hell is "Awesome"? Does Dyme Def have name recognition outside of the northwest? On the other hand, you ever hear of Ghostland Observatory? I know I have. Maybe the Breeders? There was also this guy from another band that broke up a bunch of years ago, his name's Stephen Malkmus. Do the Saturday Knights get name recognition outside of the northwest? What the hell is Total Experience Gospel Choir? But I HAVE heard of the Beastie Boys and Grizzly Bear. In conclusion, your "the main stage gets bigger bands than the Wookie stage" critique is just flatly wrong. And if you came to the festival because you are attracted to the bands who play in the last four hours, and you can't find yourself enjoying anyone who plays between noon and seven, then you suck. So you were the only person that watched The Gaslight Anthem last year? Could have sworn I saw them....but you know best. Please quit posting lies! If I'm not reading about how you think Ween sucks or how much better the Pixies or Modest Mouse would be in that spot then I'm reading about how you practically discovered some bands last year and they actually gave you your own personal show......."I swear, I was the only one there".... Please shut your trap already you idiot!

Are you kidding? They will play a long set and if anybody hasn't seen them then you are in for a treat. I'm sure they'll play a long set... I'll be leaving before it begins. Shucks!

Because the show they put on is going to make jam band fans very happy. I'm happy it's Ween and not Pavement, that makes Monday yet another chance to leave early and get home at a reasonable hour.Fixed! Are you kidding? They will play a long set and if anybody hasn't seen them then you are in for a treat.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU BOOK WEEN!?!? HOW DO THEY EVEN STILL GET SHOWS!! Ween has an awesome live show. Saw the Pixies, Frank Black and Ween within a 3 month span and Ween had the best show by far. I'm happy that they are playing.

Could jamiroquai possibly play? Don't think he's played Sasaquatch but haven't heard him touring much lately either.

but m.i.a. into pavement wouldn't work. i love them both too. belle & sebastian would be stellar too. is broken social scene unproven as a headliner? gorillaz isn't really unproven but they would obviously fit the spot too No way BSS is big enough to headline. Not looking at the headliners from past years anyway.

Biff , that is brilliant, you may be right. That's the idea, I'm hoping so. They would fit to close out a mellow Monday and I wouldn't mind that one bit.

and i can't believe someone would even suggest nickelback. i don't think adam zacks would do that to us. if it ever happened, i'd personally buy a $12 beer and get up to the front of the crowd to throw it in chad kroeger's face. Wow, you loco!

Didn't Beck headline in 2006? It was a 1 day festival, I guess it depends on how you view a headliner. My thought is that the headliner is the last act each night so in my eyes the guy made the correct statement. Seriously? It was a 3 day festival in '06 and NIN headlined the first night. Please refrain from posting nonsense. Read the entire post rather than acting like a child for no reason.

Yeah I kind of just threw that out there Coren, I thought I read that Tool was going into the studio right away to record a new album but I might have read it wrong.

The Wailin Jennys would be a great addition this year. Manu Chao, Q-Tip, Beirut, Michael Franti is due to return, The Black Lips, King Kahn & BBQ and The Almighty Defenders.
Wouldn't mind a few of these acts.

2002 - String Cheese Incident 2003 - Coldplay 2004 - The Postal Service 2005 - Pixies 2006 - Beck, Ben Harper, Nine Inch Nails 2007 - Bjork, Beastie Boys 2008 - REM, The Cure, Flaming Lips 2009 - Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, Ben Harper Granted that Ben Harper had a different backing band the 2nd time. Compiling this makes me not understand the Jack Johnson hate; I assumed he had headlined once in the past and that's where it all came from, but he's only even played at the thing once, in 2002, as a subheadliner. Didn't Beck headline in 2006? It was a 1 day festival, I guess it depends on how you view a headliner. My thought is that the headliner is the last act each night so in my eyes the guy made the correct statement. I'm thinking that we are going to see headline acts that are surprising, a couple that aren't playing at Bonarroo or Coachella. What's going on with Iggy & the Stooges? Tool possibly? All I can say for sure is they are keeping a good secret, looking forward to Monday/Tuesday. Sorry, thought it was a 1 day festival in 2006 but that was the year they grew.

I've been considering going to Lollapalooza this year instead of Sasquatch. If Jack Johnson headlines at Sasquatch, my decision will be made for me.
What the fuck does this fall under then? Practice what you preach and things might be a bit better around here. I don't give 2 shits what you think of Jack Johnson or if you were considering going to Lollapalooza. If Jack Johnson is a rumor as a headliner then back that shit up or stop posting for the sake of posting. You are one annoying mother fucker.

it's just a message board where we speculate about something mostly inconsequential, don't take everything he says so seriously. I can just relate to him because I'm so goddamn sick of people suggesting completely unrealistic things like having Pearl Jam there. There are barely any posts here, it would take less than 20 minutes to read through our biggest thread. It's annoying when people post things that have already been severely covered Agreed, it's just a message board and that's why it's hard to see someone be a dick every time someone says something that is wrong, has been already talked about or he just disagrees with. I can't imagine this is the attitude he has on a day to day basis while talking to people face to face that he meets because it's far too confrontational. You are pulling out something unrealistic such as having Pearl Jam there, why haven't you or Interstateeight called out the guy from Earcandy for saying it's a possibility? In my mind if Pavement is getting off the stage in Spain and jumping on a plane to head to Seattle to play in probably a 24-48 hour turnaround then anything is possible. Some things may not be as likely but i wouldn't count it out until the line-up is announced.

That's great and I wouldn't mind him so much but he figures his shit don't stink and he can do no wrong. He cuts people down more than contributing to any thread, wouldn't be as bad if it were the other way around. The above post could have been just as easily stated that it was known a couple months ago that the winner of naming the dance tent was going to get a signed Pixies poster and it was speculated that they might play at that time. He didn't like the fact that KOL was playing last year because of the undesirable fans that it brought to Sasquatch, what he doesn't realize is that he is acting just like those fans. Ironic isn't it? This post is about 60-70% correct, but your use of "ironic" is part of the 30-40% that is flatly wrong. Sidenote: At this rate, you'll have spent almost half of your total post count shit-talking me. I'm fairly certain I've contributed a near metric fuckton more to this board than you have. Considering you have 200 + posts and i have 8 you might be close. And that being ironic is pretty much bang on, you complaining about people that are the same as you but you not realizing it = what?
