hornedgramma - if you used showers at the festival at all this last year or were in VIP camping, your welcome. " I didn't. But thanks. Honestly, showering at Sasquatch is for chumps. I don't care what your response is to that. And VIP camping is for pissy, elitist chumps. You can bark up LiveNation's tree all diggity day long, dude, and good luck to you. The real party is out in General Camping with all us wild, filthy hippies. "As someone who has been in an innovative marketing role for the past five years..." BRA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Go get `em, tiger, I'm for reals. Ah, gotta love trolls. Thinking what they do is always the best way to do things. Never understanding that people have different wants/needs then themselves and mocking them for it (If someone doesnt do up Sasquatch EXACTLY how I do, they are all morons). Simply discriminating against people for the sole purpose of pointless and unintelligent arguing. You think by now most people at Sasquatch would be open minded and understanding of all people that attend the festival (which most are). Alas, DB's like you are still around and always will be. Bye little troll

Also, thank you for letting me know they are in it for the money. As someone who has been in an innovative marketing role for the past 5 years, I think I have a little understanding of how business works. The fact that they are ignoring suggestions to improve the festival (food, camping, garbage) doesnt make it right. Is it a great festival? Yes. Could it be better? Of course.
Any company that ignores its customers (especially when that customer is attempting to improve the overall product and also ensure customers reap those benefits, similar to how everyone reaped the benefits of me consulting with the camping manager last year to get better facilities) is....well...either incredibly cocky (thinking they know everything), or stupid.
I guess if we did it your way...it would go something like this "lets not try to improve things, instead, lets mock the people that are trying to take a proactive approach to make the experience better for everyone. I mean, the reality is, they are a big company, they do what they want. Anyone that attempts to improve my beloved, perfect festival must be mocked".
Or put another way, "i am too lazy to contribute anything"

Posted this in the "merch store" thread, but thought I may as well do the same here.
So, after it was determined that Sasquatch employees at the merch store at the festival frauded my cousin's credit card (credit card company had absolutely no doubt in their mind that it was Sasquatch employees), I went ahead and emailed Sasquatch support to see what they had to say. No reply. As someone who has worked at a financial institution (specifically in the fraud department), I can tell you that this is really bad form. Any company being accused of having sketchy employees (you can guarantee they do not do background/criminal checks on employees) would want to get to the bottom of it IMMEDIATELY and would want to apologize to the customer, not Sasquatch.
I also emailed them about some better food options, giving them actual people to contact that could vastly improve the food quality, again, no answer.
Along with that email I gave them a specific plan on how to vastly reduce the amount of garbage at the festival...again, they could not be bothered to reply with anything.
Overall, this is a festival that wants to look like they are allowing their customers to be interactive and proactive with them, but it is all just smoke and mirrors (along with their "Green Agenda").
Last year I pretty much forced them to listen to me as the camping was atrocious in 2009 and nowhere near the quality it should have been at (namely showers). In 2010, they stepped up to the plate and brought in more showers to VIP and they actually worked and most people were happy (but not before I literally had to spend hours on the phone with them). Unless you literally email them everyday and keep on them, they will simply ignore you. Not really a great feeling when you are giving them feedback/suggestions on how to improve the overall quality of the festival.
Smoke and mirrors people, smoke and mirrors.

nothing will compare to the dust at Pemberton. Ever camped at Coachella? Try Bonnaroo. The dust in 2006 was so bad that my buddy had to leave due to a horrible sinus infection. People were walking around wearing SARS masks![/quote] Good thing we are going to Sasquatch where this is not an issue. Yet another reason it is the best ever. WOOP WOOP

Damn, that's awesome. How did you get to the river for swimming? I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that this liberty was not available to everybody in the main camping area. They say on the website you arent allowed access once you leave, but lots of people did. The people camping beside us went to town for breakfast every morning. Also, I wouldnt count on the same setup (meaning getting that overflow camping), it has changed every year I have been there.

Hey, does anyone know how many people you can have in premier? It doesn't say on the site and it sounds like more than 4 is ok. I think it be worth an extra 10 bucks per person if you split it 5 ways. I e-mailed the festival organizers last night to ask about that. They replied today saying it is alright to have 5 people as long as you all come in one car. Definitely print that email. Like i mentioned, the staff at the grounds have little to no communication with the people behind the scenes (aka the people answering your emails)

can this be the toiletries thread? are there any real toilets, anywhere? or is it all portapotties? asking for my special lady friend. we're in premier parking. There are actual washrooms in Premier, but from my experience from the guys washroom....they were dirty and disgusting the entire time. The portapotties (honey buckets) have running taps outside of them to wash your hands, do dishes etc. IMO the honey buckets were the way to go...as they were usually cleaner then the actual washrooms. Hope that helps.

Regarding 5 people in one campsite....again....EMAIL THEM AND ASK. In '08 i emailed them, they gave me the details (the extra person had to pay like an extra $100 for the weekend) and thats the way it went down. Also, ensure to print off the email string for proof as the staff at the campsites do not communicate with the people organizing camping.

Last year I didn't see any actual bathrooms in premium, or if there were any they soon broke down. Lots of port a potties or "honey buckets" all over the place though. The shower situation (as mentioned previously) was horrendous last year. I left early Sunday night (during JA) to take a shower, but when I got back the showers were broken/something was wrong with the plumbling. I went back the next morning/afternoon to check them out, and they had just fixed the problem. So, I booked it back to my site to get my towel & shit and by the time I got back (2-3 minutes) there was a 5 person wait. Still, having a shower was nice but I'm preparing for no shower again this year. Do yourself a favour and don't expect to have one. There were actual washrooms available in Premier last year right beside the shower building, but they are always dirty as hell (using the honey buckets is more appealing IMO). Regarding the showers situation, it was horrendous last year. 2 showers, cold water, plus they broke down. The thing is (as i have mentioned before), people need to stop complaining on here and complain to the organizers, which is exactly what i did. I emailed them with the issues then talked to the camping organizer for 30 mins on the phone. Not only is it helpful for future festivals, but you can usually score some free camping tix or whatever (like i did). Cmon people....in this big online world....it only makes sense to go directly to where the problem is. Email them...ensure they know what the issues are and that it is unacceptable and get them to make the experience as good as how they describe it on the website. I am a firm believer that if you tell me that the experience is great (as it was in premier camping in 2008), then you better damn well make it that great or else you deserve what you get for feedback, or worse...get fired for it.

awesome. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the walk, and it really doesn't seem any worse than any walk I've had to take to a campground at a concert festival before. My next question is: Do we have any idea approximately what time gates will open on Friday? I'm trying to figure out a rough time I'm going to have to start the 13hr roadtrip to make it there shortly after the gates open. Walk isnt that bad as mentioned, but taking the air conditioned bus is alot easier on the hot days for sure (and on the way back when you are tired as all hell). Not sure where you are geographically, but regarding the drive...we left (Calgary) at around 10 am and made it to the campgrounds around 8-9pm to have just enough sunlight to set up our tent...worked out quite well. Keep in mind we had to wait a bit at the border, stopped a few times for gas/eat and also stopped at the grocery store in town to get groceries for the weekend.

Just a warning from someone who paid the big bucks to stay at the "Premier" Campground in 2009... DO NOT PAY EXTRA TO STAY IN PREMIER CAMPING!!!! It was a massive rip-off and while the festival itself was excellent, the organizers should be ashamed of themselves for screwing festival goers out of their money for this sham of a "premier" campsite. There was absolutely nothing "premier" about this campground. It was right next to the much cheaper general campground. In fact, if it weren't for a wire mesh fence and a 6-7 foot wide dirt road dividing the two sites, you couldn't have told the difference between the two camping sites. pooper to pooper camping, filthy toilettes and showers, absolutely no noise difference from the general site right next door and oh yeah, the shuttle bus that was supposed to let you in early didn't arrive until almost 2 hours after the festival gates opened on the first day!! If you don't care about noise and want to party for 3 days then just get general admission camping. If you want a slightly quieter experience with clean toilettes and showers then book at the Wildhorse Campground. Everyone I met at the festival who stayed at Wildhorse said it was far superior and at $90 its about half the price of "Premier" camping. I agree, Premier camping was crap last year, which is why I complained to the organizer, who promised me they would have more showers this year (and also gave me 2 free premier campsites for my feedback). Premier is MUCH quieter and the bus ride there/back is nice. Also, Premier campers can go into general camping and party and go back to premier when they need piece and quiet. General campers cannot go to Premier at any time. My friends that stayed in General camping last year hated it b/c the noise never ends, and they are pretty avid partiers. For Premier, unfortunately they overestimated how many people were coming last year and squished everyone into one area, then when they realized there was craploads of room left, people that arrived later got the prime spots with huge amounts of room, anyone could have moved to those spots if they wanted to. Regarding the amount of people in a campsite. 2 years ago I emailed them about a month before the fest and they told me that we could just pay extra to have the 5th person stay in our site (I believe it was around $100). Anyone with 5 people should email them and print their reply and bring it with you. We had to argue for about half an hour to get the 5th person in b/c the people running the campsites have little/no involvement with the people putting it together, so there was a communication issue. But in the end they allowed us 5 people. Hope that helps.

Indeed the shower situation was unacceptable this year, I had to walk out there at 4am just to not have to wait in a huge line. They should have at least 10-15 showers instead of the 2 (or was it 4?) they had before. They only had 2 showers (2 men, 2 women) but then brought in like 10 showers for the standard camping people, which is what really burned me up. The year before they also only had two showers, but there was only a fraction of the people in premier. Notice there were also no movies after the shows were over each day? Not like I would go watch it but what if there were people with kids going that had their hopes set on watching a movie at night? Hopefully they get it right this year.

Well i do not think there was much more i could do to stress how much they need more showers. I emailed them a LONG email about the issues i encountered (along with what they had posted on the site and what actually was available in premier camping last year), plus i talked to the dude for like 30 mins on the phone. He asked me what i wanted in return...i told him to just make sure that premier camping was what it should be...when he reassured me that it would be...he asked what else...and threw in a couple of free campsites.
So i hope it wasnt all just blowing smoke up my a** and he actually gets it done.

Ya I do not think prices are up...but hopefully the camping will improve. I was put in contact with the person heading up the camping last/this year and let them know that the premier camping this past year was basically, well, crap. Mostly with the shower situation. He promised me it would be much better this year, so my fingers are crossed. Plus I scored two free permier camping sites for my feedback

Wow, you sound like the coolest guy ever! Agreed. I hope I am that cool when I am 50. For that to happen, I hope Sasquatch is still around when I am that old The bands that I have discovered (which I have never heard before the lineup came out) thus far that I am liking are, King Khan and the Shrines (seem like a really good live act), the Wrens (got some good tunes), and Santogold (good mix of different types of songs, definitely this years MIA) Also, I am patiently waiting for PB & J's and Silversun Pickup's new albums to come out. I havent seen alot of talk about them on here but I for one enjoy both.
