Last year two dead-eyed media demons I camped with were on the Internet every morning and before bed, watching youtube videos and movies they had brought. I lost all respect for them and maybe thats why we haven't really talked much since... I really should have known how far gone he was when the only act he was really excited for was childish gambino. The rest of us got closer than ever, made new friends, and we're the ones going again.

I hadn't updated my phone cause there was too much music an other crap, but I broke it and the repair came with the latest os...I discovered the alarm will now play any song I want... I woke up smiling, singing and actually got out of bed when I meant to.

Yesterday I was on some site and saw a link that Pretty Lights had posted to a festival he's playing in October, the Mountain Oasis Music Summit. I saw Bosnian Rainbows, Pretty Lights, Animal Collective, Bassnector, Neutral Milk Hotel (!) and Zola Jesus...couldn't help myself and now I have four tickets... I'm still not sure if I'll be able to actually make it all the way down to NC but it would be worth the trip. What put it over the edge is that they have installations and seminars with the artists...if I can see Omar Rodriguez talk about his technique and inspirations, holy shit. mountainoasisfestival.com/

The first thing i've been doing every morning is looking at the weather at the Gorge. It fucking snowed here yesterday. 26 days...

That's awesome...there really is some kind of magic there hey. I was going to say when I started this thread, but figured it was too long, when I got lost that first night...well it started out awesome. Went to the dance tent, got lost and ended up at a pool party and then smoking sheesha at some amazingly comfy campsite. But then I really started trying to find home and got to the point where I'd lost all hope and was seriously considering just finding some grass to crash on till sunrise. And then all of a sudden I got tackled...it was my new camp neighbor I had met hours earlier. The only reason he saw me was because we had bonded over our blankets while unpacking and traded for the night. I still had his neon knit monstrosity wrapped around me and he saw it from down the road and booked it over. I'd never been so happy... till the next day when I came over the hill for the first time and saw that view of the Gorge... damn I can't wait to be back!!!

I got very lost the first night of my first festival and so i've been trying to make progressivly more awesome flags since. This summers is looking to be the best so far...solor and wind powered with rainbow and laser shooting capabilities (still working on the rainbow part). Anyways I finally got my industrial glow paint and solor panels in the mail today and it got me excited all over again to keep working at it and wondering if anyone else is making or bringing a flag to guide them home at Sasq this year? Or if you've seen any spectacular ones at festivals past worth meantioning.

I was pretty choked about the short Built to Spill set too. At least they're on the Sasquatch stage and don't conflict with anyone else, for me at least. As for the WP treatment... if only Snacks could make reparations by getting Krug/Moonface to come do a set with the Divine Fits, fuck by himself even, that would more than make it up for me haha. I know I'm dreaming but... do you understand what i'm pining for??

Wow. My mind is blown. At the risk of his privacy, but to save people thinking i'm delusional, here's what my Neil looks like... which is exactly like a young Neil Young. Agree? Attachments:

I remember my first non-family camping trip we brought hard liquor, three boxes of cereal and a bunch of acid. We lasted one day and one night. Now I like to have a lot of what i'm bringing premade to make it easy for my drunk-ass. This year it's small reusable containers of oatmeal with lots of good stuff added like flax, hemp seeds, peanut butter, nuts, craisins, and coconut sugar. Pasta or lasagna keeps good i've found and is easy to heat up or eat cold. This year i've started making and stockpiling kombusha tea to bring cause it cleans out your liver and tastes pretty good. And then all the regular camping stuff like coffee, snacks and veggie dogs (spicy st ives are my favorite) and soooo much fruit! I've found it's worth it to prep food before or actually have a set up to do real cooking at the homecamp. Just for how much better you feel, especially when you're gonna spend all day drinking in the sun. Also I love food and myself too much to eat cambells soup or ravioli.
