Yeah, not THAT often. Just three or four times every twelve months. And then there's this: sasquatchfest.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5Also: the inane bullshit and inside jokes are the primary reason for this board to exist. Unless and until this board is officially recognized and/or subsidized, I propose that we all stop pretending that isn't the case. You realize the post you just linked to was posted in 2008, right? I assumed that changes might have occurred between then and now. I spent 5 days lurking on this board and reading through it before I posted. More than anything else I wanted advice from people who are regulars at the festival and what advice they could give from their personal experiences. Thanks to those that replied, I really appreciate your insights. Take this thread, it's 72 pages long, and many of those pages are the same people replying back and forth with short replies and inside jokes that really don't do ANYTHING to address specific questions. It's not exactly easy to dig through each of these threads. So yeah, I DID read through the board and YES, I still had a few questions that I either needed answered, or wanted more information on. I assumed this would be a good place to ask. Fuck me, right? I realize that none of you work for Sasquatch, and that you've been here as a community for a long time. I appreciate the info you've accumulated and I do respect the work it takes to keep something like this going. In a semi-related note, the Sasquatch site, and ticket purchase made no mention of a limit of wristbands for Premium camping this year (see...I HAVE read through the board). I know it has been stated that it's limited to 4 people per car in previous years, but I'm guessing the lack of limits mentioned this year means that it will apply to everyone in the car. At least, that's my hope since we'll have 5.

You are hands down the coolest fucker on here. Glad you showed up.
I have read through the board, although I didn't go any further back than 2011. Thought I'd ask a few specific questions to people that had been there before. Thanks to those that were understanding enough to reply.
OH FUCK I WANT TO SELL SOME KITCHENS SO BAD.

Thanks Rust, great replies.
So yeah, it seems like wind is something we'll have to plan for. A poster in another thread recommended using bungee tie-downs for the tents to take some of the wind shock off the tents. Will definitely follow that advice.
What are the scissors for that everyone keeps recommending?
I'd heard the walk back and forth is pretty long. At both Coachella and Bonnaroo it was pretty easy to slip back to the tent for some R and R and then come back. Looks like that might be a bit more difficult to pull off at Sasquatch.
As for the water... do you guys have any recommendations? The water stations at Coachella are great, the water's even chilled a bit. At Bonnaroo the water stations are too crammed, and water pressure's a joke. People do die at Bonnaroo each year, 5 died the year I was there (although, to be fair most were people getting too messed up and passing out in their tents in 100 degree weather). We'll bring a bunch, but there's no way to stay hydrated on one bottle of water that you bring in.
Faucets next to the honey pots? Lovely.
The cell phone bit is a good piece of info to have. We'll have to establish a way to communicate throughout the day.
I'm amazed at your blanket trick. At Jazzfest it's established practice to pick a stage, set up chairs (that's right...chairs), plant flags, and establish a base for the day. If you tried that shit at Bonnaroo or Coachella you'd be out a blanket, a chair, and whatever the hell else you left behind. Heck, at Bonnaroo the crowds were so thick that if you left it there and tried to come back you'd never make it through everyone to get back to it.
Thanks for the replies guys, VERY HELPFUL.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful.
I've read through almost all the posts and FAQs here, great board, very similar vibe to the Bonnaroo boards. My last question was more of a general question. Like, as someone who's been before, what would you tell someone going for the first time that you learned the hard way?
For example I'd tell people at Coachella to shower at 2am, no lines. For Bonnaroo I'd tell people to not miss the movie tent. It's a great way to beat the heat for a little bit and catch a nap (dark and cool!).
Stuff like that.

Hey guys,
Nice board, I've been reading through a few threads and I still have a couple of questions that I'm hoping a couple of you can answer.
Me and a few of my buddies travel to a new festival each year. So far we've done Coachella, Bonnaroo, and JazzFest (in that order). This year we've decided to hit Sasquatch. JazzFest was cool, but we rented a house, so we're really looking forward to unplugging again for four days of car camping.
From what I can tell Sasquatch is pretty similar to Coachella and Bonnaroo in terms of how it's set up, so I think we'll be fine, but it always helps to ask the locals.
Here's my questions:
1. How small are the camp sites? We sprung for the Premiere camping for one reason, we have no idea what time we're getting in on Thursday, and we like being a little closer. We'll have 5 to 6 people in our group. Traditionally I rent a van (and sleep in it) while the others hit a tent. Our tent is a just a bit larger than the traditional 10' x 30' car camping space. At Bonnaroo that's no problem, as it's pretty lax about defined boundaries. Coachella's a bit more hard-assed about it, as they actually mark an outline of your space and everything has to fit inside of it. We're really considerate, and usually work with the camps around us to make sure everything fits. How strict is Sasquatch about this? Are the spaces marked out, or are you left to work out things with the folks around you?
2. What's the backup like to get in? I'm sure the traffic is legendary. At Bonnaroo we got in the 12 mile traffic line to get in around 1am. We got our tent set up at 9am. Is Sasquatch that brutal, or does it flow in pretty easy? Just want to be mentally prepared. We'll be driving from Seattle, is there a better time to leave on Thursday than another? If you do a festival you have to understand that the process is part of the fun, but it's nice to know what to expect.
3. How hard is it to sneak in nice cameras? A couple of our group are really good photographers. Is it really hard to get a decent DSLR in to the show or are the guys up front pretty cool about it?
4. How hard is it to get from stage to stage? At Coachella I was amazed at how easy it was to move from stage to stage, you could easily watch a half set of one act and then move to the next. At Bonnaroo there are a lot of choke points, and it is CROWDED. So much so that if there's a band you want to see, you pretty much have to show up at the end of the previous band's set to make sure you get in if it's in the main stage. Is the amphitheater the same way or is it pretty easy to navigate between the acts?
5. Any good advice for first timers? It's not our first festival, but it's our first Sasquatch. Usually it takes a day or two to find your way around and find you favorite spots. What are some of the things we need to make sure we do or see while we're there. Any good advice about best places to view the stages, or favorite hang out places?
Thanks in advance! If this board is any indication, Sasquatch is going to be a blast, you guys seem like a great group.
