This was like 3 pages ago, but why would anyone compare anything to Primavera? That's just mean.

In the past few weeks, like 3 of my best friends have separately each done 3 really cool daytrotter sessions recently, and I want my west friends to listen to my east frannnzzzz: 'Dis guy's name is Joel, and he plays in one of my bands Boring Portals with me. www.daytrotter.com/#!/concert/mechanical-river/20055244-37382636 'Dis guy's name is Mike, and he is a major sweetheart and talks really fast: www.daytrotter.com/#!/concert/yes-yes/20056506-37383661 'Dis band is fronted by Johnnie, who for some reason always dedicates songs to me when I don't deserve them: www.daytrotter.com/#!/concert/elim-bolt/20056461-37383626 YAY PLUGGING MY FRIENDS

So what did they play at the second show? The First Song Three Years Ago Today Stab I Would Hurt a Fly Sidewalk Built to Spill Abba Zabba* [Captain Beefheart] Else Made-Up Dreams Big Dipper Done Carry the Zero Encore: Revolution Goin' Against Your Mind How Soon Is Now?* [the Smiths] Living Zoo * First documented performance Definitely one of the most unique Built to Spill performances I Have ever seen. I was hoping for a lot of oldies and certainly got my wish, including 'Built to Spill' and 'Revolution' which I never expected to see. Also a promising new jam at the end. This band is consistently amazing. Oh man, I would be oh oh oh oh so jealous. Sounds like they played every single thing I'd want to hear. BUT, without Distopian Dream Girl, I'm not satisfied. I'd still feel empty. OR, maybe the rest of that wonderful set list would help me forget I WASN'T hearing DDG. I would kill to hear Three Years Ago Today live though. And Big Dipper. And Made-Up Dreams again.

OH and here's Lump's yearly roundup of comedians I like that you should like too:
Mike Birbiglia Brett Gelman Jenny Slate Jon Daly James Adomian
?Nick Offerman? I've only heard him on comedy podcasts, and there was never a mention of him having a standup career, so it must be a new thing. However, listening to him on these podcasts, he's such an inherently funny person that I have to imagine his standup would have to be entertaining.

Akron/Family performances are seriously magical. I don't know what it is, but it's something.
Shovels and Rope are people I know from Charleston. Friends may be a strong word, as I've really only conversed with them twice, and played with them twice. I feel like all of my friends are friends with them though, and one of my bandmates plays with them all the time. The Charleston music scene is tiny and we're all friends, and Shovels and Rope has been somewhat of the representative triumph of Charleston, and a good example of what most Charleston bands are like. They're not as much what I'm usually into, but I love them for what they are.
Gotta represent Charleston, y'allll.

I'd say that one's safe, but who is it? If it was a little bigger and higher resolution, it wouldn't be safe. At least having the album itself, I know that to be the case. And sorry, completely put 2 and 2 together that there's no text anywhere on there. But yes, it is II by Unknown Mortal Orchestra

I wish my dad would say things like 'holy shit dude' and listen to The Residents. My dad is kind of awesome. When I was 13 and just getting into music his is the record collection where I found Malkmus, My Bloody Valentine, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill, Spiritualized, Sonic Youth, Sparklehorse, Grandaddy, Doves, Mudhoney, Iggy Pop, and countless other bands. Am I your dad? I have been asleep at the wheel.
