Yep, the situation could have gone horribly awry.
Moral of the story, no campfires!

Legit weenie roasting, log burning, large stone surrounding campfire.
They were pro, though. It was a group of 10+ with full on tents, canopies, propane stoves, lanterns...everything. I guess we weren't freaked out cause they looked like they knew what they were doing.
I'd be scared for my life if they were drunken 15 year old pyros

Its hilarious how that post now makes absolutely no sense. In fact, it just looks like I'm confirming something we've known for a while. What I actually said was, is I a:te auto correcting to I 8. Whoa, totally doing this now. Though I liked weak shit superfan (I was a huge board creeper before actually joining) Anyhow, I can see myself thinking of a devious vodka smuggling plan and forgoing it thinking i'll get caught. Hello $9 beers.

Our campground neighbours had a fire throughout the fest. Guess they got away with it. But no, I don't suggest having a campfire. Too freakin' dangerous.

beer > food
and the gyros would be delicious if I ate meat! Otherwise it's an 800% price markup.
I didn't try the noodles...they looked a little too radioactive, if that even makes sense. Instead I survived on the elephant ears.
Hopefully this year it won't get so cold that I need to buy a $5 tea again.

Seriously.

Ok so this is going to be my first year to sasquatch and I wanted to create a thread to addrewss all of the questions that all of us first timers are bound to have. First off what is the food situation like? I want to spend as little money as possible there. What do you suggest bringing? Also after you enter the venue can you leave to go back to your campsite to eat, rest, drink ect... Thanks for the help Inside the venue, the food is rather terrible. I'm a vegetarian so the options are even worse. I paid $8 for a veggie wrap which was basically pita bread, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and onions which ranch salad dressing. I would say bring in high protein granola bars, beef jerky and a piece of fruit. Vegetarians substitute the beef jerky for another snack like tofu jerky, nuts, or more fruit/veggies. Also, if you do decide on buying food in the venue, stick to deep fried foods. Not appetizing to some, but it's the best way to prevent food poisoning. And hell, you're walking, dancing, and sweating so much it's not going to make much difference on the waistline!

Hmmm, girly advice, let me think... Well, As for showering, dry shampoo is a MUST. I've tried tons of different brands, and I have a few faves. Firstly, definitely go with an aerosol dry shampoo. It gives you tons of volume, gets at the root, and is easier to use. If you have blonde hair, I would suggest the Oscar Blandi Pronto dry shampoo. It leaves a bit of a white film, hence why I recommend it for blondes/light coloured hair. For dark coloured hair, I love the Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible dry shampoo, which goes on clear. The problem I'm running into with the dry shampoos is that they need to be brushed out. I have curly hair, so brushing my hair is a big no-no. (I don't even own a brush, actually) I'll probably try a couple and see how "brushing" with my fingers works. In that case, I say either Oscar Blandi Invisible dry shampoo or Rene Furterer dry shampoo. They both go on clear (not white) so you don't need to brush it out. Just spray and massage your scalp a bit -- no brushing required! I worked at Sephora for about a year, and I feel like i've tried all dry shampoos!

I'm extremely excited to see Chromeo, mid day set or later. They're fun to listen and dance to, no matter what time of day it is.

I saw a pale, red haired kid pass out right in front of me before She & Him last year. Spent the entire day in the pit without water. Poor guy didn't even get to see Zooey.

Someone add to the first post that if you bring babies to Sasquatch then you are a bad parent. The BrassTAQ is not a parenting guide. Also, we're getting a lot more new threads started asking simple questions, sometimes questions that have been asked multiple times. In other words, that is what this thread is for, so I'm going to start locking the simple question threads, and directing them here. It's pretty clear a lot of newbs are not noticing this Q&A/Tips thread that just so happens to be stickied. Can someone who knows the 411 on the camera situations post a Q & A I can link to the first post. It's a question that is asked several times each year. There are probably four different camera threads already. AND QUIT ASKING ABOUT DRUGS. There are children, and parents of children on these boards. I feel as if it ALL depends on who searches your bag. I saw some getting turned away at the gate, and some at the gorge openly using dslr's. It seemed as if once you got past the bag check, security didn't care if you had a dslr, so long as you weren't right up front in the pit. I'd hide it in something soft like a sweater and get checked by a chill looking young guy. Nevertheless, anything can happen and it CAN get taken away inside. I don't expect it to happen, but hey, some security personnel take their jobs very seriously. We've all seen them be arses about booze. Just don't be whipping it out every second and you're good.

I've heard the tresemme one is just okay. I tried it out once and didn't like it...too bad cause it's inexpensive.
Shaving wise, I love the nair bladeless shaving kit. Either I would use that or just everything waxed a couple days before.
I'm also debating whether I should go makeup-less or wear SPF powder foundation. I'm incredibly pale and need some sort of sun protection, but looking at makeup-less photos from last year, I feel like I need SOMETHING. What did you gals do in terms of makeup vs. sunscreen?
Lastly, clothes need to be "disposable". Never wear anything that, if it got ruined, you'd be upset. It gets how, sweaty, muddy, everything at sasquatch. Get cheap dresses, shorts, tanks, etc. from places like forever 21, H&M, target, Zellers, and Wal Mart. You can get some awesome things cheap at those places!
Last year I brought a thick robe to sleep in over my pajamas and under my sleeping bag, and it was toasty! A robe is easier to bring than an extra blanket and, since it stays super close to your body, it keeps you warmer at night.
