I was at Casablancas in 2010 as well. They really did need to make those tents bigger, or thought about putting him in the Outdoor Stage. We are going to Sasquatch from Vegas as well, but stopping for a few days in Montana to see family. Did your girlfriend keep her pass, or did you sell it, or burn it? E For a second, I thought I'd be the only Las Vegan there. Have fun in Montana. I always think of this Steinbeck quote: "Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is like from hearing Texans."

If your friend can somehow make it to Twin Falls, I might be able to pick him up from there.
Also, I'll probably be leaving Wednesday because I want to go for a hike on Thursday. So in that case, the rendezvous would have to happen 5/25 around sunset. That's when I plan to visit Shoshone Falls. There's also a chance it will be 5/26.
On top of that, my uncle might be joining me, and he's trying to convince me to go to take a California route, even though it adds a couple hundred miles.
So, this is all very hypothetical. But if I can help, I'd be glad to.

Sorry, I won't be traveling through San Fran or Idaho Falls. I'm going through the Nevada desert, where no one lives. The only major towns I'll be hitting are Twin Falls and Boise. Then through the northeast of Oregon.
Now that I think about it, I don't know why I posted this. I'm taking a pretty obscure route.
Also, yes, I like acid. The only time I did it, my camping neighbor gave it to me on Sunday of Coachella 2010. Julian Casablancas looked ten feet tall.
And no, my cat will not be riding along, but I gaurantee all passengers in my car will be sexually uncomfortable.

I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday. Granted, we seem to do that about once a month. But I think (I hope) it's for good this time. The plan was for us to go to Sasquatch together. Now, I'm forced to go solo. Which is cool, as I've never spent more than a couple days without a familiar face to fall back on.
I need to start warming up my social skills. Begining now. Anyone who needs a ride from Las Vegas, or anywhere along the 93/84/82 route, I've got plenty of room. I'm twenty-five, positive-minded, and love to crank the stereo to maximum volume.

Sigur Ros was close to my heart at the time. I had just spent a lonely few months living in West Virginia and they provided the soundtrack to my walks through the woods.
I was new to Seattle, and new to concert-going in general. So I went to the theater the day of the show, expecting there to be plenty of tickets available. The girl at the box office let me know otherwise. I made my way downtown, sulking. A scalper saw me, and asked if I was trying to get tickets for tonight's show. He offered them at double the face value. I couldn't afford it, said thanks, and continued walking. Four blocks down, I hear him running behind me, shouting, "YO! HEY, YO!"
He was a large black man involved in an illegal market (selling outside the venue), so I started running my scared ass off. I ran about a block, then I heard him scream, "YO, FACE VALUE!".
Relieved, we made a deal. He must have been hard up for Sigur Ros fans. The tickets were the very back row of the balcony, but they were kind of perfect. The Paramount is one of the most beautiful venues I've been to and to sit in the very back is to capture every reverberated sound and emotion.
That's my story. Not that you asked. I've been so wordy on this board for some reason.

Wow. Thanks for all the responses and warm welcomes, everyone. You're making me more excited for this trip come May.
I live in Las Vegas and driving over 1,000 miles for a music festival is kind of a big deal for me. Yeah, it's my Coachella replacement, but it looks like it's going to turn out to be more adventurous than the trip to Indio could be.
Pea, what's live Das Racist like?
interstateeight, that's awesome. It was one of my first Seattle shows too, although I only lived in Seattle for only a year, and it seems like a century ago. I also saw Sigur Ros at the Paramount that year and that was indisputably the greatest show I've ever been to.

1. Wilco - I've been listening to them for ten years and haven't seen them live. The last album failed to grab my ear, but I'll be hoping for those long jams and songs from Being There and YHF.
2. Modest Mouse - Will be rocking out and singing loudly.
3. Flying Lotus - Missed him at Coachella, saw the Dead Weather instead. Cosmogramma has been played in my car more than any other CD. This is shroom time.
4. Foo Fighters - Since I bought my tickets, I went back and listened to all the old Foo Fighters albums. I forgot how many of their songs I know. Songs like "Aurora", "Tired of You", and "Breakout" all left my memory.
5. Deerhunter - Have become my favorite young band. Haven't seen them since Coachella 2010. Now that I've digested Halcyon Digest, I can't wait to sing along. My girlfriend and I thought we were too cool to have a song together, but we have agreed on "Desire Lines". This will be the most romantic set of the fest for us.
6. The Flaming Lips - Haven't seen them since they opened for RHCP in 2003. I hope to get real close so I can be part of the giant animal/confetti/headtrip party.
7. Das Racist - My favorite new hip-hop group. It'll be interesting to see if they can reach the energy they display on record. You can't smell me? I'm stiinkiiiinng!...
8. Bassnectar - Last weekend, me and my friends roadtripped to LA. My girlfriend took us to a Mexican seafood restaurant that she used to go to as a child in East LA. We got loaded on ceviche and strawberry margaritas. Then we went outside to smoke, blasted Bassnectar from the car stereo and danced our asses off in the parking lot. It was a highlight of the trip.
9. Death Cab for Cutie - Haven't been into them since Transatlanticism, but it should be a good nostalgic show.
10. Bright Eyes - I was disappointed when I saw them in 2005 at the Moore, way back when I was living in Seattle. Too many pubescent girls screaming, "Marry me, Conor!". Too many weak songs. I want more I'm Wide Awake but I don't think that's where he's headed with his setlists this year. Here's hoping.
