That's awesome news...where did you hear that? I've been searching all over the net and all I can find is the announcement that she broke her foot.

Top 5:
The National Okkervil River - The Stage Names was one of the best albums of 2007, and I have been looking forward to seeing them live for some time. I'm a bit nervous after hearing some underwhelming live performances online (see All Songs Considered), but my hopes are high. Ozomatli - apparently others on this board have seen/listened to Ozomatli much more than I have. I had not seen or heard them before last year's Sasquatch, and I had as much fun during their set as any other (the Arcade Fire might have topped them). Maybe it was just exceeded expectations. I checked out their albums afterwards and was fairly unimpressed, but I am very excited to see them live again. R.E.M. - I have wanted to see them for as long as I can remember...very much hoping that I didn't wait too long. Flaming Lips - I came unprepared for the hail storm in 2006 and ended up spending that portion of the evening soaked with a waking hangover freezing in my car. I will not make the same mistake this year.
Bottom 3:
DCFC: I have seen them four times. Their shows weren't bad, but I feel like their music is generally too slow and too somber to make them a must see live. The Cure: I will go see them, but for the life of me I can't get excited about it. The New Pornographers: Another band I have seen a million times. If Neko Case isn't there, I just don't think this show is worth it. I love the New P's, but Carl Newman's voice doesn't do terribly well on stage inside, I can't imagine how it will sound with in a huge outdoor venue.

I think it is highly, highly unlikely that Neko Case will show for Sasquatch. In 2006 she got hailed on and her set was cancelled, in 2007 her bass player got in a car accident on his way to the show, this year she broke her ankle...if I were her, there's no way I would risk it . That said, it's a huge disappointment...I saw the New P's with both Neko and Dan earlier this year, and it was the first time that I really felt like I had seen a good New P's show. Letter from an Occupant with Neko on vocals was fucking awesome. I really like Carl Newman's voice, but I really think it's more suited to the studio than the stage...they need Neko and Dan to give it the extra oomph.
