Yes please for Portishead! They only played ONE North American show in 2008 - at Coachella, where they were set to headline . . . until Prince magically stole their spot. Anyway, I would be happy with a sub-headlining sunset slot for Portishead.

So, some board members agree that the bass (and volume for that matter) was too loud - to the point where sound bleeding became a 'major' problem. Do any of you think this will persist next year? Perhaps there are not enough people like myself (and a few others) that are concerned about this to enlist change. After all, some loved the sound of the main stage.

I didn't notice any change at Bigfoot or Yeti, but it seems as though they seriously upgraded the mainstage. Okay, that makes sense, since even the folk-esque groups (e.g. Midlake) were much louder and more bass-intensive that I would have expected to hear, or that I remember from 2008. Also, I thought Portugal. The Man was fine, but that's probably just a matter of preference.

1. LCD Soundsystem - The multiple dance parties that erupted, especially the party on the walkway that made the security quite pissed off was the most fun I've had in a while (this was most amusing during 'Yeah'). Closing with ‘All My Friends’ was quite fitting, but like many of you, I wanted more!!
2. Caribou - I've never seen so many people turn out for a band opening up the day at noon at this festival. Such great multi-layered soundscapes and live versions of Snaith's material, and a dance party like that of last year during Santigold broke out on the green.
3. My Morning Jacket/Broken Social Scene (cannot decide!) - At this point in my recollection of Sasquatch 2010, MMJ were just as memorable as LCD, but I had more fan at LCD. However, the extended version of several songs (notably – Dondante) were certainly one standout highlight of my weekend. BSS had the non-chalant stage banter, great sound and their genuine love of their music and performing was clearly shown during their set.
4. Massive Attack - Tried to stay in front, but couldn't believe how loud it was up there (with earplugs) during United Snakes. They were my #1 group that I was looking forward to, and the musical prowess of the band was fantastic! Needless to say, their lights were like a visual Tour de France: statistics and slaps in the face of the American foreign policy were complimentary to their message (e.g. Atlas Air) and ultra bright LED's.
5. Patrick Watson - Many missed him, since he played the Yeti in the middle of the day on Saturday, but the combination of piano, percussion and subtle vocal style really was quite memorable.
Other honorable mentions: Phantogram and No Age on Monday, glad I checked them out after many suggested I do so. I saw some of Deadmau5, but was so tired from the day and fully satisfied with MMJ's set that I didn't get into the dance party there. I love Chemical Brothers and other electronic music, but circumstance dictated that I get some sleep and not miss Caribou at noon the next day.

Is it me, or was the sound for many of the bands playing the main stage and Bigfoot stages higher on the bass/lower frequency than in other years? The only other time I have attended this festival was in 2008, when there was not nearly as much bass behind the sound of each band (e.g. R.E.M., Stephen Malkmus). And I'm not talking about Deadmau5 btw.
Thanks for any replies!

The app says 11:30-12:30 for both deadmau5 and booka shade... 1 hour! Problem solved.

Pavement opened for Gorillaz at Coachella this year, so don't be surprised.

HOWEVER, FUCKING FUCK THE FUCKING PAVEMENT VERSUS FUCKING DIRTY PROJECTORS... FUCKYeah, that's a pissoff too. I heard through the Coachella attendees that Dirty Projectors should be known by everyone that is musically inclined.

I'm just surprised, not sure if that is a typo (unlikely), but you'd think Deadmau5 would play for an hour. It must be due to the county noise curfew... They could always move him into the Rupus Room for a 10-11pm set, but the organizers will certainly not cater to my two cents alone. Apparently, the lighting will be quite similar to that of Daft Punk back in 2006. That's a cool pic! Not overly familiar with the music but judging from vids i've seen of Deadmau5 it looks like quite the light show...similar to Daft Punk. Am I right or wrong on that assumption? If I'm right then I may have to check his set out. I have to be honest though, I'm not a fan of this type (dance, DJ, Etc.) of music but if a cool light show accompanies the music then it's worth checking out. Get this: the company/artists that designed Daft Punk's last Alive tour is the same 'company'/ artists that have designed Deadmau5's lightshow! If you dig lights, Deadmau5 will be fantastic. As well, check out Massive Attack the next day. Basically the same deal, except not only will the lights for Massive Attack be great, their music is actually really worth checking out: Girl I Love You, Live With Me, Mezzanine (track, and album), Eurochild, What Your Soul Sings

First off, fuck the Bamboozle crowd, they suck cocks gay scene faaaaaaagggootttttsssssss (friends of mine, though). . Really? c'mon dude. The only good MGMT song is the cover they did once of til Tuesday's "Voices Carry", which they definitely won't play. Watching the crowd react to them not playing Kids will prob be best part of their set. Why can't they be on the Big Foot stage before Ween? ? Switch MGMT with New Pornographers! But I suppose MGMT has superceded them in popularity by now.

It will be more than that I'm sure. Headliners don't really have set end times other than the 2 AM noise curfew, so I'm guessing both Deadmau5 and Booka Shade will play until at least 12:15 or 12:30. Also, the Sasquatch page is full of typos. Every :05 is written as :50, and there were a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Good to know! Oh, and your comment regarding MMJ playing a 2.5 hour set was also encouraging. I was flipping over the times given for Massive Attack ( 1hr 15 minutes... wtf), but then after reading your comment, I gradually calmed down and began taking deep breaths, since MA should not be stopped after an hour and a bit... So thanks for your prior knowledge re: curfews and set times!

Thanks for responding - respectfully. I reckon that if this was the Coachella board, I'd be mutilated already by the swarm of Coachella Junkies.
Anyway, that makes sense, since they wouldn't have Deadmau5 or Booka Shade on the Bigfoot unless they were well-known or had a reasonably large following. If they didn't meet either of those criteria, they'd probably be in the Rupus Room... probably.

Neon Indian vs. New Pornographers... hmmm... I saw New Pornographers in 2008 at Sasquatch, so maybe try Neon Indian? Any suggestions?

Who? Massive Attack Where? Paramount Theater, Seattle When? April 2006 A gripping stage presence, very tight live band and a Tour de France of LED lights are what comprise the live Massive Attack experience. If you get a chance to see them close Sunday night, I strongly suggest you see them. No matter if you're up close to see the performers (TWO drummers, keyboard, bass, guitar, and a revolving door of different vocalists), or far back to take in the full scope of the LED lights in background, you will be impressed. Listen to the albums Mezzanine and Blue Lines before checking out their more recent albums. Sample some live material below: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTWUsWVS678www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN4VSqfawZc&feature=related
