Thanks for putting this together! The schedule-maker on the official site still has a few glitches (e.g., bands for a certain day are out of order when organized on a personalized schedule). However, at least the actual set times are posted by their names.

Rush will probably have a great light show when they play the Gorge July 2nd.
As for the reasons for why one should strongly consider attending the festival, I'm getting what you're all saying: it's about more than the music - it's about meeting other stellar people who have the same passion and want to throw their inhibitions out the window for a few days. At the same time, you get to see several great bands you like AND, I imagine, discover more bands as a bonus. I'm sold, thanks!

I would probably do more research on some bands before making a decision, if the main reason you are going is for the music. Personally, I had my ticket when I only knew about FF and that isn't even a draw. For me, it's all about the experience and seeing friends from all over North America that make the trip. Going for the music and meeting like-minded people, not so much the party. I've been researching with haste, given that tickets are selling 300% faster than last year (apparently, says a 107.9 employee on the coachella msg board). So far discovered Antlers, Radio Dept, Bright Eyes, and Aloe Blacc. Perhaps this is a good sign so far? There's probably more gems to uncover... Guided By Voices, anyone? Do the math. Going to each of those bands seperately is definetly going to cost way more than the four day wristband. Especially with gas, hotel accomodations, etc. That's definitely worth noting. One trip for all these bands.

Would any of you pay for a ticket/wristband if you had only this many bands in mind?
Fri: DFA79/Foo Fighters
Sat: Antlers/Radio Dept./ probably Bright Eyes (?)
Sun: Beach House/Flaming Lips/Flying Lotus (assuming no conflict)
Mon: Rodrigo y Gabriela/Black Mountain/Deerhunter/MSTRKRFT/Wilco

Spent a good chunk of my evening checking out Bassnectar videos. This guy is fucking SICK! This will probably change almost daily, but as of right now I'm anticipating this set more than any other. I'll be packing a shitload of glowsticks for this, my first glow stick war! I'm curious if anyone on this board saw the Guns N Roses tour back in 2002 when Mix Master Mike opened for them? I only ask because this was where I fell in love with DJs and realized the talent they have. I was a Beastie Boys fan, but my true appreciation for what these guys are capable of didn't come to fruition until I saw this show. He was so fuckin awesome I didn't think GnR would be able to top his performance. Anyone have an idea of what the light/laser/visual setup will be for Bassnectar? Is the glowfest not enough for you?!

The Flaming Lips belong in the 'OMG YES' category; such a euphoric experience everytime I've seen them. And... you REALLY need to check out Black Mountain. Start with the album In The Future.
MSTRKRFT and Flying Lotus would be as fun, if not more, than Major Lazer, so investigate them as well if you're open to other EDM. FlyLo, however, is more like seeing beyond infinity than dancing.

Looks Like a Flaming Lips/Yeasayer conflict. Hmmmm.... Flaming Lips/Yeasayer/Flying Lotus conflict is surfacing for me... but the performance and showmanship that Flaming Lips put on trumps ALL.

"The site is currently on standby, so please come back soon."
Damnit! I saw Foo Fighters for a split second, with some other stage designations, and then the message appeared... FUCK!

Banana Shack ... much better than 'Rumpus Room' (who came up with THAT name for a dance tent?)

How come The Pixies and Arcade Fire are no longer on the rumor list? This is serious business. Yeah, AF should still be on there, given that there's a gap between April 25th in Chicago and then.... nothing till June 17th in Germany. We'll find out in several hours, so this rumours madness can end.

"The Flaming Lips- a possibility every year." <- from first post on this thread
A slim possibility this year, at best, given that they're playing Primavera. Whoever is updating the first post, please remove them from the "strong possibilities" category. Hell, I'd LOVE to see them again, but they're not likely to play here this year.

Saul Williams would be a more worthwhile alternative to this.
