There are all different kinds of butter toffee peanuts, but my faves are the western family ones. Yummy.

hem. Souly--You can't have kids? Is this permanent? I'm not really sure the extent of it at this point. It's not on my list of concerns though. The doctor basically told me that it's very unlikely, but there are probably treatments that would make it possible in the future. The diet should help with this too. I should note that I'm still careful.. because he said 'very unlikely' not impossible, and I come from a long line of HUGE families.

I thought this might be a good place to look for others coming from the Portland area. I am interested in finding one or two people looking for a ride this year. I have room and I hope that my thread on the carpool board doesn't go awry like the guy from Portland looking for a riders.
Any other gals looking for a way to the festival from the Portland area? I'd even be willing to drive up to Seattle and share the ride with you from there.

Nomdekt- Thanks for the recipe! Those look fanstastic! Stormy's got a tasty lookin' breakfast/energy bar recipe that she's posted. I can't wait to try those, too. I'm not really sure the extent of it at this point. It's not on my list of concerns though. I should note that I'm still careful.. because he said 'very unlikely' not impossible, and I come from a long line of HUGE families. That's a bummer. I hope everything turns out okay for you. I had emergency surgery several years ago that involved all of my internal girly bits and I am not entirely certain I can have kids either. I'm not completely sure I want kids at all, but I'd still like to know if I had that ability in case I ever did end up changing my mind, y'know? Heavy stuff. But of course, your health comes first! Good luck getting your stuff together, Daniellepj! There are a lot of great people on here, but we lack a lot of frequently posting ladies. Welcome to the boards!

That's pretty much how I feel about it.. I'm not sure I want kids, but if I do, I'll want like 7. So I'll be pretty heartbroken if it turns out I can't have any. I think it'd be something I could deal with though. There are more than enough cats in the world to ease my pain.

Yikes. 7?! you should just round up to 8 and try to compete with octo-mom. I barely have the patience for more than one at a time, so considering I do eventually change my mind about procreation, I'd be cut off after 2.

I come from a family of 5, and I love it. I can't imagine only having one person to turn to when I need to talk to someone. I have a nice variety.

That is really great, actually.
Growing up, it was just my brother and me and sometimes I resented not having a sister to talk girl stuff with.

Yeah I don't know where I'd be without my sister! She's my best friend and we're 5 years apart. I can't wait till she's 18 so she can actually come to shows with me!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to fly up and would then need a ride. Want to PM me your e-mail address and we can chat? Also - only child here! (well, I have 2 older half brothers but I didn't grow up with them so they don't really count) I STILL resent not having a sister growing up. heh.

I know exactly how you feel, ohheythere. Though, I'm sure being an only child had its perks, too.

I have one brother who is four years younger. I always wondered what it would be like to have a sister, but I really love my brother. We are very different but we have the same sense of humor. He just went to finish school in Japan for two years and I miss having him closer (even though he lived in Seattle before he moved).

So, I was about 5 pounds away from my Sasquatch goal weight at the middle of last week, but had a major pig out weekend-- complete with homemade chicken fingers with homemade honey mustard sauce and gooey white chocolate macadamia nut cookies while I washed it all down with a fair amount of beers. Sigh. I recoiled to say the least. This is what makes me super proud of Souly for her perseverance! Last I've heard, she's 25lbs less! And here I am complaining about 5 lbs. If she can do it, hell, so can I!

I was actually thinking about this.. and I've been going off the weight on my wii fit.. but if I go by the weight that they last recorded at the blood donation clinic, it's actually more like 35 pounds.. Which scares the shit out of me.. but it's also very exciting!
I also hate to say this.. but it's been very easy for me to do this. I don't think weight loss for people who are already healthy is this easy. Mine's part of a disease, and I was quite a bit overweight.. I still am.. I have about 55 pounds to go before I'm at a healthy body weight.

Congratz Souly! That's awesome!! Yeah, and just to forewarn you, the weight will dissolve really quickly in the beginning and will start to plateau into reserve after a while. Don't get discouraged--that'll happen. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and really got upset when that happened.

I don't know if this is being talked about somewhere else (just catching up), but is your brother in Japan okay, Stormy?

He is fine, Drew, and thank you for asking. I was pretty freaked out. He said he got stranded at school all night because the trains stopped running, but luckily he is far enough away from the epicenter that he just felt it and was not in danger. He said they drank at school, and he is not really a drinker. I said that if there was ever a time to drink, I think that was it.

Is it weird that part of me hopes that, if the world starts to end, it starts to end while we're all at the gorge for sasquatch?
