Any Seattle folk attending the Washington Brew Fest this weekend? I might head up on Saturday if the weather holds up.

Just came across the Alaskan Free Ride A.P.A. Wasn't sure what this was so I googled it at the bar and it is a new series that is draft only beers. Seems similar to Full Sail's brewers choice series. Anyways, it was pretty tasty. Good to have a nice beer from Alaskan for a change

The Alaskan Winter is hands down one of the worst beers on earth. Feel free to keep your damn spruce tips away from my beer. Thanks.

Did Alaskan come out with a white IPA at one point? I think that was the only beer of theirs that I've ever enjoyed...if I'm remembering correctly. Before a sports game on a sunny day I'll throw back a couple of their apricot ales in their beer garden, buy other than that I can't really think of a brewery that I hate more than them.

It appears that Edmonton is finally getting on board with the 'craft beers are cool' crowd. We've got two craft beer pubs opening soon, and a handful of other wicked pubs popping up as well.

That is so funny because I was just about to post that I went to the Pyramid brewhouse in Walnut Creek last night and had two of the most forgettable beers of my life. They even managed to make a Black IPA suck. Seriously the worst brewery one earth.

The sad thing about Pyramid is that they have the most amazing brewhouse and restaurant across the street from the stadiums in Seattle. Their food is excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. The location is excellent. Their game day beer garden is excellent. Their beer sucks.

I'm SO stupid. That's exactly who I was talking about. Fucking Pyramid! I hate Pyramid! I can mostly concur with this except that the Pyramid Brewery (across the street from Safeco) holds a special place in my heart. I was thrown out (it was really my friends fault, but I contributed)of Safeco during the first of a three game set against the A's in September of 2006. So we get tossed in about the 3rd or 4th inning and end up meandering over to the brewery. The place is dead and the bartender starts to inquire as to why two dudes decked out in A's gear are not at the game. We tell him our story and he proceeds to pour us free beers the rest of the night. For that, Pyramid Brewery, you are respected.

I couldn't find anyone selling reasonably priced tickets on the curb for the last game at the Kingdome, so I watched the game at Pyramid. Then I snuck in the dome for the closing ceremonies. My first game was at the Kingdome 25 years ago, so seeing the send off live (for free) was pretty awesome. Did Alaskan come out with a white IPA at one point? I think that was the only beer of theirs that I've ever enjoyed...if I'm remembering correctly. Alaskan has a smoked porter which is the most polarizing beer I've tasted. I enjoy it for the uniqueness, but many I know treat it like a punishment for banging a fugly. Little known fact, everything is expensive in Alaska, because it costs a lot to ship items there. Alaskans even have a COLA added to their income, which is a cost of living allowance. Logically, one would think Alaskan beer would be cheep up there, right? Nope. I once paid $7 for a pitcher of Alaskan Amber in Idaho, less than half the price of a pitcher of the same in AK.

Oh shit!! Stormy! Guess what I found on tap at one of my local watering holes last night!? Leafer Madness! I was so excited to see it and I wasn't disappointed at all. Very tasty beer.

Also, that Georgetown Black Lager will definitely be one I'll be checking out. I'm a huge fan of Georgetown Brewing. Have you had their Super Chop before?

Super Chop? I don't think so. Is that related to the Chopper beer (like imperial style or something?)
By the way, Beer Valley did a brewers night last year in BHAM and that Leafer Madness was very tasty and addicting. Too tasty and too addicting. I got sloppy drunk that night
