I'm totally watching The Running Man this weekend now. That was the first rated R movie I ever saw and it freaked me the FUCK out.

Saw Hunger Games last night, both the boyfriend and I fully enjoyed it! We won passes to an advance screening and got super freaked out when we got there by the line up of teenage girls in sleeping bags with lawn chairs and coolers. Luckily they were lining up for the midnight show and we got to breeze past them. The movie's pretty faithful to the book, which I also enjoyed, but it's interesting to see stuff from outside the first-person narrative. Casting was really well done, especially Jennifer Lawrence. She was really good in Winter's Bone, and I think she's going to have an interesting career. How did you see it last night if you weren't there for the midnight show? "SCREWWWWWW YOOOUUUUUUU BENNY"
"See you at the party Richter"
Based on those two lines/scenes alone, I'm going to go with Total Recall.

I'm totally watching The Running Man this weekend now. That was the first rated R movie I ever saw and it freaked me the FUCK out. I'm totally watching Cool Runnings now this weekend. Speaking of terrible fake islander accents, I saw the first 15 minutes of the Jack Black Gulliver's Travels movie the other night... The local Bermudian he met at the marina had the most offensively inconsisent accent of all time. Actually, no, that's not entirely true. Leia's accent in the first Star Wars movie still pisses me off. Is she English? Is she American? Choose an accent CARRIE FISHER! Point is, if you're going to do an accent, get it right or don't do one at all: See Kevin Costner in Robin Hood or Tom Cruise in that Nazi movie from like 4 years ago.

Is she English? Is she American? Choose an accent MADONNA! Fixed and I agree.

By far the worst fake accent of all time.

An advance screening two hours before the midnight showing seems pretty dick.

Has anyone seen or heard any thing about the new Werner Herzog Doc, ' Into the Abyss'? The preview looked cool, but I missed the screening in town. Like to know how it was.

So I'm dogsitting at my folks place, and I discovered their old vcr and a bunch of my old movies that I haven't watched in forever. Watched Indiana Jones over the weekend, got drunk and watched Star Wars last night. Found all the old James Bonds and a bunch of others. Good times.
You guys remember having to rewind shit? What a trip.

I saw We Need To Talk About Kevin this week. After watching a Tilda Swinton movie I always wonder what she is like in real life. She's like an American Isabelle Huppert. I've never seen an actress consistently put themselves through the cinematic wringer like those two. She is amazing in the movie.
The movie itself is basically an exposure to someone's personal hell. So it's hard to say if that's good or not because why do I want to be exposed to someone's personal hell. It's an awful and stark ride I'll tell you that much. They do a very good job of keeping the film's tone in synch with Swinton's emotional orientation (which is a neat trick, but it's hard and feels heartless to acknowledge neato cinematic techniques in this bleakest of bleak narratives).
On a personal level I've always been interested in, took schooling and am now working in a field where I often deal with attachment disorder. Someone obviously did their homework and, while subtle, they accurately portray many of the common themes that occur and why a child does not attach to a primary care giver.
I also went and saw Pina once again, in motherfuckin' 3D this time! That movie is officially my favorite movie of last year. So good. Beautiful.

I really liked this movie but I think the direction kind of hindered a great script. One of the things I like least in movies is watching it and constantly knowing the director is trying to do something artsy with the camera angles. I didn't find that her directing style fit with the story, at least not as much as it seems like you did. I don't mind it when a director is trying to disorient the viewer, I do mind it when it's obnoxiously done.

I'm watching 'Pina' once again. Has anyone else seen it yet? One of the most impressive talent showcases that I've ever seen. Mind blowing.

Wow someone just informed me that 'Walk Hard' is a parody of 'Walk The Line'. I guess I should rent that tonight.

I am in love with Walk Hard but have never seen Walk The Line.
We saw Hunger Games today. I enjoyed it. There were a few issues but I thought it was good. I haven't read the books so I am not sure how it compares.
