Did I read the word "jam" ITT? I just got the Arturia minimoog V VST for Ableton and my dude, that shit is filthy. At least until I can afford hardware.

Most excellent, my dude.
We've still got 3 Twilight films to watch.

Just wait until Jacob falls in love with Bella's human-vampire hybrid baby the instant they make eye contact.
Oops, spoilers.

The end of Whiplash is awesome, but the rest was disappointing. Vice/versa for Birdman, amazing film with a disappointing conclusion IMO, but I think I'm in the minority there. Inherent Vice is my favorite movie of the past 5 years, at least. See dat shit. I strongly agree with all of these

I enjoyed Nightcrawler, Inherent Vice, Whiplash, and Birdman.

I watched Frank and didn't enjoy it very much, but then I watched it with subtitles and fucking LOVED it. Completely different experiences. Frank is so good. One of the best I've seen in a long time.

I also just watched What We Do In The Shadows, which is a mockumentary about a bunch of vampire roommates starring Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords). It was fucking delightful. Must agree that What we do in the Shadows was fantastic- I couldn't stop smiling from the first scene.

Kingsman: The Secret Service was amazing. I haven't had that much fun in a movie theatre for a long time.

On Christmas I saw the Hateful Eight with HG and our friend in 70mm at the Hollywood Theater. It was really great. If you are into the thing that Tarantino does then you would like it. Everyone was really great, and I thought Jennifer Jason Leigh was amazing.
I am going to see Joy this weekend. I love David O. Russell and also J Law so I am really hoping it is good.

When I saw the trailers for this film, I thought "Who in the world would ever go out of their way to watch this film?". But then I saw it and I loved the shit out of it. Samuel L. Jackson is fucking fantastic, and I'm pretty sure that scene in the church made me laugh harder than anything else I saw in a film last year.

I watched The Revenant last night it is was fucking intense. I was not prepared for how flat out brutal it was. Alejandro Innaratu (or whatever his last name is) is a fantastic director and he knocked it out of the park once again. Oh ya, and Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy are really good actors. Tom Hardy is steadily becoming one of my favorite actors and Leo was already pretty much there.

I finally watched the trailer for The Revenant yesterday. It looks really incredible, and I'm dying to see it, but that is the kind of movie that I would straight up NOT watch if it weren't a director's followup to a film that I loved as much as I loved Birdman.
I'm a big fan of things that make me think, and I'm a big fan of things that make me laugh, but I don't much enjoy being put through the wringer. Then again, I loved The Green Inferno so maybe I'm just like mercurial or something.

Then again, I loved The Green Inferno so maybe I'm just like mercurial or something. This one isn't as light hearted and self aware as Birdman (not that Birdman was a comedy, but it almost seems like one compared to The Revenant), but it is very obviously the same director. The long, sweeping shots just scream of his work, only much more visually striking. And the audio! I almost want to watch it again with my eyes closed. It's hard to describe without spoiling it, but you'll see (hear) what I'm talking about. As far as being put through the wringer, you better prepare yourself there. It was some of the most gritty realistic violence I've ever seen, but not at all stylized or exploitative. There were several shots that literally made me squirm in my seat, but it was worth it to experience such a fantastic piece of art.

I am so glad that there are others that appreciated this little gem ad much as I did. Watched it one afternoon and then with my wife later that evening. Also watched The Green Inferno last night and was really disappointed. It was fine I suppose, but I felt like Eli Roth held back a bit. If you're going to make a cannibal movie and credit Cannibal Holocaust as a source you better make it just ad unsettling, if not more. To me this was just another sequel to Hostel.
