why? because CoS gave Sasquatch the Festival of the Year Award? Let's not jump the guns just yet. Maybe I'm alone here, but while I agree the Award is a nice honor, I don't think it means much more than just bragging rights.

he's probably feeling the pressure because of all this hype. plus we're spending an extra benjamin this year, so something crazy is bound to happen.

Although I would like to agree with COS here (I have no knowledge of any of the other festivals in the running), there may be something else to this.
Awhile ago, Adam Zacks granted an interview with COS. Perhaps this is a return of the favour...

plus we're spending an extra benjamin this year, so something crazy is bound to happen. Something crazy like adding a fourth day with the Foo Fighters headlining, and having camping included in the fee? We are basically paying the same price per day we paid last year. Although I would like to agree with COS here (I have no knowledge of any of the other festivals in the running), there may be something else to this. Awhile ago, Adam Zacks granted an interview with COS. Perhaps this is a return of the favour... Good call Brad. This was also my exact first thought. Also, I didn't re-read the CoS review, but I read it back in June, and there were a couple errors in fact. I got the feeling whoever CoS paid to attend the festival just got fucked up with the rest of us and tried to write a factual review about it. I did the same, but I do this for fun. If I get Gene and Dean Ween confused, it's because I'm not getting paid for my fact checking and editing abilities. I would expect more from a website trying to be credible, journalistically.

Alright I'm sorry to say it, but they are most definitely raking a LOT more cash in this year. Think of all those campers who payed next to nothing to camp the last 10 years of sasquatch just by piling people into one rig. Now every camper is guaranteed to pay full price. Also, an extra day means more profits for the festival(from tickets, food, everything else). Keep in mind, I'm not bitching, I'm just saying the foo fighters alone isn't enough to satisfy my extra 70 dollars worth of entertainment. but I'm obviously not worried about the lineup not meeting my expectations because this will be my fourth year in a row and Sasquatch hasn't failed me yet!

Alright I'm sorry to say it, but they are most definitely raking a LOT more cash in this year. True. Think of all those campers who payed next to nothing to camp the last 10 years of sasquatch just by piling people into one rig. Now every camper is guaranteed to pay full price. False, unless you admit that "full price" this year is a fraction of what it has been before. Also, an extra day means more profits for the festival(from tickets, food, everything else). True. Keep in mind, I'm not bitching, I'm just saying the foo fighters alone isn't enough to satisfy my extra 70 dollars worth of entertainment. True, they will not be alone. There will be many other awesome bands playing on the Friday. but I'm obviously not worried about the lineup not meeting my expectations because this will be my fourth year in a row and Sasquatch hasn't failed me yet! The truest statement ever.

Yeah i guess your kind of right about the camping dealio. Last year it was 100$ divided by the 6 people in my group which came to 16.666, and to tell you the truth I don't think they even made me pay it. Now its somewhere between 30 and 40, but now we have the extra night of camping so it all works out...

sigh... last year my ticket was $185 + camping is $100/4 ppl (that's supposed to be the max)
That's $210/3 days or $70/day
This year $285/4 days is $71.25/day....
enjoy your extra $1.25 Sasquatch!

I might have missed this in one of the other threads, But how many bands will likely play on the Friday. Is it just like a couple sub headlining bands and then Foo Fighters type of thing?

It starts at 3 on Friday, so maybe 5 or 6 on the mainstage and 4 or 5 on the wook is my guess.

In 2006 there was about 8 acts in total for the Friday Night, I would think it the same this year.
