Same for me, it's just too far to travel for a band that I don't know all that much about, but would still enjoy seeing. I think the people at the contest want a name for will call relatively soon, so if anyone wants their name on there just let me know and I'll send the email. If not, I'm going to post it on my facebook as well and see if anyone is interested. I might be inclined to take those off your hands, the gorge is only about a 2 hour drive for me. How much would you want for them?

I paid nothing for the Sabbath tickets so all I want in return is a cargo ship full of karma, and maybe a beer if we ever happen to be near each other in the future.
If more than one of you want the tickets, I'll put your names in a random generator to choose. I think they want the name for will call soon, so please let me know if you want the tickets by tomorrow morning and I'll let whoever gets the tickets know.
So far it seems Burrito and Pancakes are interested, so consider yourselves entered.

Right on, man. I'll buy you a beer regardless, just for being a guy that gives them away even if it's not to me.

I just won a pair of tickets to Black Sabbath/Andrew W.K. at the Gorge in August. I don't know if I want to go yet! That's a long drive for one evening of shows... If anyone else is a huge Sabbath fan or really wants to go, let me know! I probably won't end up going. I'm finding out what section the tickets are for right now, also. If nobody else is interested I would love to go. The only reason I'm not going is because I probably can't afford it.

I was going to request that you send me your full name in a PM, but then while typing that I noticed I had a PM from you with that information! Congrats buddy. I'll send am email to the contest people and let you know the details.

Oh well. It would have been fun but I already came to terms with the fact that I couldn't go months ago and I've seen Sabbath twice before, so I'm not too torn up about it. Have fun, Burrito. And, Rustuuuuuuuu, I'm still gonna buy you a beer or four if I ever see you.

Haha thanks Pancakes! I will gladly drink beers put forth in front of me. On another note, the schedule for What The Fest got announced today and it made me SO EXCITED AHHH I'M GOING TO A FESTIVAL IN 7 DAYS!!!!!!! I love their programming schedule, they have stuff happening 24/7; music until 4:30am on the main stages, and music until sunrise on other stages. They are going to have a micro-film festival that runs all night long in the middle of the woods every night. They are going to have Classixx playing a pool party for an hour and a half in 90 degree weather. Not to mention the funktion one sound! Also, check out this ridiculous view of Mt Hood from the festival grounds....

I've never seen Sabbath before and thought there was no possible way for me to make it out there, but all the chips seem to be falling perfectly and now I have a delicious pile of snacks.

Since I can't make it to any of the shows I want to see this weekend, I bought a ticket for Slightly Stoopid and Atmosphere at Big Sky Brew on Friday. Big Sky Brew has turned out to be one of my favorite venues, so it'll be fun. Great beer and food at least.

I got all the confirmation and details sorted out, so it's official: Burrito is going to Sabbath!
He's picking up the tickets from a guest list titled "guests of Black Sabbath and Sharon Osbourne Management", and I find it funny that Sharon's business is tacked on there. Hopefully he gets some great seats/maybe pit tickets? They didn't tell me that part.

I remember listening to one of Slightly Stoopid’s albums in college a ton ( Everything You Need ). I remember enjoying their reggae songs but skipping over their punk tracks. I didn’t know they were still around. Is Big Sky Brew a large venue? What other sort of acts have you seen play there?

Holy crap Jay-Z and Justin is next week! Why do I have a mental block with this concert? Anyone else going to this show? I'm going to have an attachment of N'Sync diehards with me but I'm sure I can sneak a beer in there somewhere.

It is basically a stage that they set up in the summer in the field next to the brewery. They host about a half dozen or so shows a summer. Of coarse they have the full Big Sky Brew selection there on draft. They had to scale down the capacity and even stopped doing shows for a couple of summers because some new businesses cut off parking space. I saw Primus and Pretty Lights there last summer. I recently saw Widespread Panic and am going to an evening with Cake in a couple weeks. www.bigskybrew.com/Concerts
