I haven't listened to the new cage the elephant but I thought the first one was alright.

Not entirely sure what it is that I don't like but they just don't do it for me and I've given them numerous chances. I may end up watching their opening set though since I generally try to see all bands on a bill.

I'm really bummed. I might not be able to get work off for Sasquatch. One of my coworkers (one who can cover my shifts) has her due date 5 days before. Another lady has had a European vacation planned since last summer and will be there from May until mid August (she is from Europe and has family thus the extended vacation) Than there are others who are requesting the weekend off for camping. I put my request in a couple months ago, but the two people who can cover my shifts are the ones who will not be here.
My boss is going to see what she can do, as she is going to need to get a temp worker to help cover shifts but right now there is no guarantee that I can go.

GA tickets! That's the only way to go. No way I'm standing in one spot while everyone in the pit is rocking out.

GENO! DEERHOOF! how was it? Awesome. The crowd didn't have much energy though and they seemed to be getting a little pissed about that haha. Also they played 2 encores which was pretty cool

I really enjoy the idea of relient K opening for neutral milk hotel and I'm sure HG loves seeing the Residents squeezed right in the middle there

Hahahaha holy shit, amazing.
In case anyone was curious about Ben Gibbard:
Zach Rogue opened, and he did not play "Love's Lost Guarantee," which is the only Rogue Wave song I've ever found interesting.
Ben Gibbard opened with Steadier Footing. He then played the following songs but not in the following order: Cath, Grapevine Fires, Little Bribes, A Movie Script Ending, Blacking Out the Friction, I Was a Kaleidoscope, Soul Meets Body, Summer Skin, I Will Follow You into the Dark, Crooked Teeth, Title and Registration, The Sound of Settling, Passenger Seat, A Lack of Color, Photobooth, 405, and such great heights. I'm missing at least one, I think. He also covered a country song I did not recognize. Bob Mould came out and they did a song together; I did not know what it was, but it was good.
He closed with Brand New Colony.
Zooey Deschanel, apparently, was there; we speculated that she would get up on stage and sing with him. I was thrilled when she did not.
Next show I'm going to: Cave Singers/Triumph of Lethargy Skinned Alive to Death/Lia Ices.

My God. I can't contain my excitement right now.
The venue that I help with promotion/booking just booked David Liebe Hart for a show in April. You don't know how happy this extremely out-of-nowhere booking makes me.

Well, he must be going on tour. There is absolutely no reason for him to just be randomly doing a one-off show in Charleston. Though that would make me enjoy it all the more. Anywho, I'm sure this means he's going to tour and that that tour will probably involve Portland.
