You will not be disappointed Geno. Yes, no death growls, but they kick ass regardless. They jammed pretty hard for a few songs, so I wouldn't call it a soft set. They had a couple acoustic songs. I looked at some setlists on line before the show. They pretty much stuck to the same songs.

Has anybody seen Jeff Beck live before? I have an opportunity to see him but not sure if I want to accept. I've heard he's one of the greatest guitar players ever and other than The Yardbirds I haven't heard much. Judging from the YouTube stuff I saw it's all covers, sung by the no names in the band with him on guitar.
Thoughts?

Saw TH&TH last night for free, good shit.
Planning on going to see Hey Marseilles next month. Going through a "must see Seattle bands touring in the Bay Area" kick. Sadly I'll miss Minus the Bear with The Lonely Forest next month because I'll be in Austin.
Mother of god this was a fascinating post.

Met up with ol' Gunther for the Moonface show last night.
Great show. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be, and more. Krug was behind a massive stand of keyboards, and he had one other fella with him who was playing a variety of electronic tuned percussion instruments, including a neat electronic marimba. They played all of Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I'd Hoped with the exception of 'Shit-Hawk in the Snow', one new song and a couple of covers.
A certain percentage of the music was pre-recorded; some of the basic drum beats and most of the blippy little arpeggios, but Krug was a fury on that organ and the percussion player was incredible. It was especially neat because as complex as those songs already are, the marimba and other parts gave them new depth and color and infused a little bit of the sound of the Dreamland EP.
I don't generally go out for Sunday night shows, and it is an incredibly rare thing that I make a public appearance without Stormy, but I'm really really glad I made the effort for this. That Moonface album is in my top three for the year, probably top two, and seeing it performed live was a very different and very exciting experience.

Planning on going to see Hey Marseilles next month. Apparently I tailgated with a member of that band on Saturday before a Sounders match.

Hm. I might have my friend in Seattle look into this. Although he only listens to bro metal so he might not have the motivation to get them.

I drove up to Seattle and grabbed those Black Keys tickets. They're going to be playing on a stage in the parking lot in front of the Microsoft store.

Soo the Deck The Hall Ball lineup so far has to be the most typical undeserving-ly popular indie bands I've seen so far...with Foster The People, Two Door Cinema Club, Cage The Elephant and Young The Giant so far.

Yep. Portland's December to Remember is pretty bad too. Young the Giant, The Kooks, Mumford & Sons, Foster the People, AWOLNATION, Death Cab for Cutie, The Joy Formidable, Portugal, the Man, and Grouplove.
The Joy Formidable is probably the only thing I'd see out of those.

So am I supposed to hate Com Truise? They weren't exactly exciting performers but their music sounded pretty good. If nothing else I appreciate that there was a live drummer to go along with all of the knob twiddling yeah, he didn't have a drummer when i saw him. that certainly would have helped him suck much less. and one more thing... about his name (and i'm only nitpicking here), but am i the only person here that almost expects him to, at least, somewhat resemble Tom Cruise? fail.
