So....exactly how long was your wait in the line on Friday night to get into the campgrounds?
Mine was roughly 45 minutes.

Mine was a bit longer than 45 minutes, but I showed up a couple hours later than expected. It took a couple friends of mine over two hours to get in. They arrived at around 10pm. Lesson learned, show up before 7pm if possible.

Probably about 20-30 minutes, arriving in the evening sometime. We made the mistake of heading to town for cigars and waited for about an hour and a half to get back in.

after i setup camp, which was right along the outside fence where the road was, i was asking random people throughout Friday night as they drove in how long it took them, and some were saying around 3-4 hours once it got late!

If I make it out next year, I am staying in a hotel.

If I make it out next year, I am staying in a hotel. But the campgrounds is an experience all in itself!

That's true, and I've had that experience three times. But my friends tried the hotel idea this past year, and it worked for them. Shower, bed, sleeping in, beer stays cold without need for cooler/buying ice/etc? Sold.

That all sounds terrible. Is the music too loud for you too?

If I make it out next year, I am staying in a hotel. Wow. Serious loss of respect for you there I8. Aren't you like 23? And you're already complaining about the camping conditions? Seriously?!? Camping at the Gorge all weekend is definitely a huge part of the Sasquatch experience for me. Some people prefer the Wild Horse camp ground due to more room and better facilities, but really I am not interested in trekking that small amount further to get to my bed after a day of festival. Let alone getting in my car, waiting in line to get out, and then driving to a hotel. That involves being sober, which I am also not interested in. Partying with friends back at camp and meeting randoms is irreplaceable. If you really want modern conveniences, rent an RV. That way you can still rock out with the rest of us! But hey, I guess camping isn't for everyone. I still think I8 should be demoted to Baby Sasquatch, though.

Yeah I8 you big 23 year old baby! What do you know anyway, it's not like you've done this 3 times before and made some kind of well informed opinion on the matter or something.
Sasquatch camping = worst festival campground (and I'm not talking about the tiny quarters)
Granted there were some really cool people to meet, but the majority were shameful 18yr old messes and frat kids. I could not do this four years running either

Driving back to a hotel after partying and listening to music all day at midnight seems like a huge fucking "Debby Downer" to me! Sounds like some people just cant cut it!

Yes, it is clear that I8 is a seasoned festival goer and he should do what he pleases. This isn't going to stop me from giving him shit about pussing out. Sasquatch camping = worst festival campground (and I'm not talking about the tiny quarters) You have obviously never been to a music festival outside of the US/Canada. Compared to festivals like Reading in the UK, Sasquatch is more like a 5-star resort.

Wolfhat,
I've been to Galstonbury, Pink pop, fucking Wacken!, Coachella, and Bonnaroo (last six years) to name a few. I suspose I took for granted that by adding (and I'm not talking about the tiny quarters) you'd see I am not complaining about the camping conditions, but rather inferior atmosphere it had to all the above fests (except Coachella, where both conditions and atmosphere lost). I am with y'all in that camping is half the fun, but not at Sasquatch, unless all you know is Sasquatch. If it wasn't for the goddamn beauty of the stage and endless amazing vantage points the hill offers toward the main acts, I would have very little motivation to return.

I understand that some people just want to enjoy a music festival for the music, but man I couldn't imagine ever ending my weekend experience at only that. I work and study my ass off all year long, sometimes a weekend of absolute epic blasphemy and carnage is just what the doctor ordered.

Ahh, I understand what you're saying now. I still don't agree though. Sure, there are idiot drunk kids running around, frat boy douche bags doing beer bongs, and woo girls wooing, but these people exist everywhere. And there are plenty of decent folks there too. At least at Sasquatch you are given enough room that you can separate yourself from the baddies if you want. I've seen way worse camping atmospheres elsewhere. Examples of things that I've never seen at Sasquatch but have encountered elsewhere: entire rows of honey buckets overturned and set on fire, rivers and lakes of human waste because the toilets that are still standing have overflowed, hoards of 16 year old boys taunting women to "show us your tits!" and then grabbing them when they refuse, tents so close together that you have to step on them to get past, the constant smell of garbage fires, explosions in the middle of the night from people putting empty gas canisters on their garbage fires, the list goes on. After seeing this stuff, Sasquatch is like a dream.
I guess it's really what you make of it. For me it is always a great camping experience. I go down with a large group of other animal hats so I always have a solid and comfortable base. We're inviting to the people we meet and somehow always find some quality people. We give off a certain energy and we get it right back. This is my idea of a good time.
